Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus by the command of God our Savior and of Christ Jesus our hope,

to Timothy, my true child in the faith: grace, mercy and peace from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Lord.

I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who has given me strength, because he considered me faithful, appointing me to his service.

and the grace of our Lord was overflowing for me, with the faith and love that are found in Christ Jesus.

If you point out these things to the brethren, you will be a good minister of Christ Jesus, constantly nourished on the words of the faith and of the good doctrine which you have followed.

I charge you, in the presence of God and of Christ Jesus and of the elect angels, to keep these instructions without partiality, doing nothing out of favoritism.

If anyone teaches otherwise and does not agree with the sound words of our Lord Jesus Christ and the teaching which accords with godliness,

I charge you in the presence of God, who gives life to all things, and of Christ Jesus, who made the good confession before Pontius Pilate,

to keep the commandment without stain or reproach until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ,
