For thy servant David's sake turn not away the face of thine anointed.

If thy sons will keep my covenant and my testimony that I shall teach them, their sons also shall sit upon thy throne for evermore.

For LORD has chosen Zion. He has desired it for his habitation.

This is my resting place forever. Here I will dwell, for I have desired it.

I will also clothe her priests with salvation, and her sanctified shall shout aloud for joy.

There I will make the horn of David to bud. I have ordained a lamp for my anointed.

Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brothers to dwell together in unity!

like the dew of Hermon, that comes down upon the mountains of Zion. For there LORD commanded the blessing, even life for evermore.

Praise ye LORD, for LORD is good. Sing praises to his name, for it is pleasant.

For LORD has chosen Jacob to himself, Israel for his own possession.

For I know that LORD is great, and that our LORD is above all gods.

who causes the vapors to ascend from the ends of the earth, who makes lightnings for the rain, who brings forth the wind out of his treasuries,

who sent signs and wonders into the midst of thee, O Egypt, upon Pharaoh, and upon all his servants,

and gave their land for a heritage, a heritage to Israel his people.

For LORD will judge his people, and will relent concerning his servants.

O house of Levi, bless ye LORD. Ye who fear LORD, bless ye LORD.

O give thanks to LORD, for he is good, for his loving kindness [is] forever.

O give thanks to the God of gods, for his loving kindness [is] forever.

O give thanks to LORD of lords, for his loving kindness [is] forever,

to him who alone does great wonders, for his loving kindness [is] forever,

to him who by understanding made the heavens, for his loving kindness [is] forever,

to him who spread forth the earth above the waters, for his loving kindness [is] forever,

to him who made great lights, for his loving kindness [is] forever,

the sun to rule by day, for his loving kindness [is] forever,

with a strong hand, and with an outstretched arm, for his loving kindness [is] forever,

but overthrew Pharaoh and his army in the Red Sea, for his loving kindness [is] forever,

to him who led his people through the wilderness, for his loving kindness [is] forever,

to him who smote great kings, for his loving kindness [is] forever,

and killed famous kings, for his loving kindness [is] forever,

Sihon king of the Amorites, for his loving kindness [is] forever,

and Og king of Bashan, for his loving kindness [is] forever,

and gave their land for a heritage, for his loving kindness [is] forever,

even a heritage to Israel his servant, for his loving kindness [is] forever,

who remembered us in our low estate, for his loving kindness [is] forever,

and has delivered us from our adversaries, for his loving kindness [is] forever,

who gives food to all flesh, for his loving kindness [is] forever.

O give thanks to the God of heaven, for his loving kindness [is] forever.

For there those who led us captive required of us songs, and those who wasted us, mirth, [saying], Sing for us one of the songs of Zion.

I will worship toward thy holy temple, and give thanks to thy name for thy loving kindness and for thy truth. For thou have magnified thy word above all thy name.

All the kings of the earth shall give thee thanks, O LORD, for they have heard the words of thy mouth.

Yea, they shall sing of the ways of LORD, for great is the glory of LORD.

For though LORD is high, yet he has respect to the lowly. But he knows the haughty from afar.

For there is not a word in my tongue, but, lo, O LORD, thou know it altogether.

[Such] knowledge is too wonderful for me. It is high, I cannot attain to it.

For thou formed my inward parts. Thou covered me in my mother's womb.

I will give thanks to thee, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are thy works, and that my soul knows right well.

For they speak against thee wickedly, and thine enemies take [it] in vain.

[and men] who devise mischievous things in their heart. They gather themselves continually together for war.

The proud have hid a snare for me, and cords. They have spread a net by the wayside. They have set snares for me. Selah.

As for the head of those who encompass me around, let the mischief of their own lips cover them.

Let burning coals fall upon them. Let them be cast into the fire, into deep pits, from where they shall not rise.

I know that LORD will maintain the cause of the afflicted man, and justice for the needy.

Let a righteous man smite me, [as] a kindness. And let him reprove me, [as] oil upon the head. Let not my head refuse it. For even in their wickedness my prayer shall continue.

Their judges are thrown down by the sides of the rock. And they shall hear my words, for they are sweet.

For my eyes are to thee, O lord LORD. In thee do I take refuge. Leave not my soul destitute.

Keep me from the snare which they have laid for me, and from the traps of the workers of iniquity.

When my spirit was overwhelmed within me, thou knew my path. In the way in which I walk they have hidden a snare for me.

Look on [my] right hand, and see, for there is no man who knows me. Refuge has failed me. No man cares for my soul.

Attend to my cry, for I am brought very low. Deliver me from my persecutors, for they are stronger than I.

Bring my soul out of prison that I may give thanks to thy name. The righteous shall encompass me around, for thou will deal bountifully with me.

And enter not into judgment with thy servant. For in thy sight no man living is righteous.

For the enemy has persecuted my soul. He has smitten my life down to the ground. He has made me to dwell in dark places as those who have been long dead.

I spread forth my hands to thee. My soul [is] as a weary land for thee. Selah.

Cause me to hear thy loving kindness in the morning, for in thee do I trust. Cause me to know the way in which I should walk, for I lift up my soul to thee.

Teach me to do thy will, for thou are my God. Thy Spirit is good, lead me in the land of uprightness.

Revive me, O LORD, for thy name's sake. In thy righteousness bring my soul out of trouble.

And in thy loving kindness cut off my enemies, and destroy all those who afflict my soul, for I am thy servant.

The eyes of all wait for thee, and thou give them their food in due season.

He will fulfill the desire of those who fear him. He also will hear their cry and will save them.

Happy is he who has the God of Jacob for his help, whose hope is in LORD his God,

who executes justice for the oppressed, who gives food to the hungry. LORD releases the prisoners.

Praise ye LORD, for it is good to sing praises to our God. For it is pleasant, [and] praise is comely.

who covers the heavens with clouds, who prepares rain for the earth, who makes grass to grow upon the mountains.

LORD takes pleasure in those who fear him, in those who hope in his loving kindness.

For he has strengthened the bars of thy gates. He has blessed thy sons within thee.

He has not dealt so with any nation. And as for his ordinances, they have not known them. Praise ye LORD.

Let them praise the name of LORD. For he commanded, and they were created.

fire and hail, snow and vapor, stormy wind, fulfilling his word,

Let them praise the name of LORD, for his name alone is exalted. His glory is above the earth and the heavens.

For LORD takes pleasure in his people. He will beautify the meek with salvation.

Let the sanctified exult in glory. Let them sing for joy upon their beds,

Praise him for his mighty acts. Praise him according to his excellent greatness.

The fear of LORD is the beginning of knowledge. The foolish despise wisdom and instruction.

For they shall be a garland of grace to thy head, and chains about thy neck.

If they say, Come with us. Let us lay wait for blood. Let us lurk secretly for the innocent without cause.

For their feet run to evil, and they make haste to shed blood.

For in vain is the net spread in the sight of any bird,

and these lay wait for their own blood. They lurk secretly for their own lives.

I also will laugh at your calamity. I will mock when your fear comes,

when your fear comes as a storm, and your calamity comes on as a whirlwind, when distress and anguish come upon you.

because they hated knowledge, and did not choose the fear of LORD.

For the backsliding of the simple shall kill them, and the careless ease of fools shall destroy them.

But he who hearkens to me shall dwell securely, and shall be quiet without fear of evil.

yea, if thou cry after discernment, and lift up thy voice for understanding,

if thou seek her as silver, and search for her as for hidden treasures,
