Whoever trusts in the Son possesses eternal life, but whoever refuses to trust in the Son will not see life, but the wrath of God continues to remain on him.

So He came to a town in Samaria called Sychar, near the field which Jacob gave to his son Joseph;

You are not greater than our forefather Jacob, are you, who gave us this well, and drank from it himself, with all his sons and flocks?"

So He came back to Cana in Galilee where He had turned the water into wine. Now there was at Capernaum an officer of the king's court whose son was sick.

When he heard that Jesus had come back from Judea to Galilee, he went to Him and began to beg Him to come down and cure his son, for he was at the point of death.

Jesus said to him, "You may go; your son is going to live." The man believed what Jesus said to him and started home.

Then the father knew that that was the very hour when Jesus had said to him, "Your son is going to live." So he and his whole household believed in Jesus.

So Jesus answered them: "I most solemnly say to you, the Son can do nothing by Himself, except as He sees the Father doing it, for whatever the Father is in the habit of doing the Son also persists in doing.

For the Father loves the Son and shows Him everything that He Himself is doing, and He will show Him greater deeds than these, so that you will keep on wondering.

For just as the Father raises the dead and makes them live on, so the Son too makes alive any whom He chooses to.

For the Father passes sentence on no one, but He has committed all judgment to the Son,

that all men may honor the Son as they do the Father. Whoever does not honor the Son does not honor the Father who sent Him.

I most solemnly say to you, a time is coming -- indeed, it is already here -- when the dead will listen to the voice of the Son of God, and those who listen to it will live.

For just as the Father has life in Himself, so He has granted to the Son to have life in Himself.

He has also granted to Him authority to act as Judge because He is the Son of Man.

Stop toiling for the food that perishes, but toil for the food that lasts for eternal life, which the Son of Man will give you, for God the Father has given Him authority to do so."

For it is my Father's will that everyone who sees the Son and believes in Him shall have eternal life, and that I shall raise him to life on the last day."

And they said, "Is He not Jesus, Joseph's son, whose father and mother we know? So how can He say, 'I have come down out of heaven'?"

Then Jesus said to them, "I most solemnly say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink His blood, you do not have life in you.

Suppose you were to see the Son of Man going back where He was before?

He was referring to Judas, Simon Iscariot's son, for he was going to betray Him, although he was one of the Twelve.

So Jesus said to them, "When you lift the Son of Man (on the cross), you will know that I am the Christ, and that I do nothing on my own authority, but that I say exactly what my Father has instructed me to say.

Now a slave does not live permanently in a household, but a son does.

So if the Son sets you free, you will be really free.

and asked them, "Is this your son, and do you affirm that he was born blind? If so, how is it then that he now can see?"

His parents answered, "We know that this is our son, and that he was born blind.

Jesus heard that they had turned the man out of the synagogue; so He found him and said to him, "Do you believe in the Son of Man yourself?"

do you now say to me whom my Father has set apart to it and sent into the world, 'You are a blasphemer,' because I said, 'I am the Son of God'?

When Jesus received the message, He said, "This sickness is not to end in death but is to honor God, that the Son of God through it may be honored."

She said to Him, "Yes, Lord, I believe that you are the Christ, the Son of God, who was to come into the world."

Jesus answered them, "The time has come for the Son of Man to be glorified,

The crowd answered Him, "We have learned from the law that the Christ is to remain here forever, and so how can you say that the Son of Man must be lifted up? Who is this Son of Man?"

While you have the light believe in the light, that you may become sons of light." On saying this Jesus went away and hid Himself.

So Jesus, while supper was on -- although He knew that the devil had suggested to Judas Iscariot, Simon's son, to betray Him --

Jesus answered, "It is that one to whom I give the piece of bread when I dip it in the dish." So He dipped it into the dish and took it and gave it to Judas, Simon Iscariot's son.

When he had left, Jesus said, "Now the Son of Man has been glorified, and God has been glorified in Him,

And anything you ask for as bearers of my name I will do for you, so that the Father may be glorified through the Son.

When Jesus had said all these things, He lifted His eyes to heaven and said: "Father, the time has come. Glorify your Son, that He may glorify you,

The Jews answered him, "We have a law, and in accordance with that law He deserves to die, for claiming to be God's Son."

So Jesus, on seeing His mother and the disciple whom He loved standing near, said to His mother, "There is your son."

But these have been recorded, in order that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that through believing you may have life, as bearers of His name.

Simon Peter, Thomas called the Twin, Nathaniel of Cana in Galilee, the sons of Zebedee, and two other disciples of Jesus, were all together.

After they had finished breakfast, Jesus said to Simon Peter, "Simon, son of John, are you more devoted to me than you are to these things?" Peter answered Him, "Yes, Lord, you know that I tenderly love you." Jesus said to him, "Then feed my lambs."

Jesus again said to him a second time, "Simon, son of John, are you really devoted to me?" He said to Him, "Yes, Lord, you know that I tenderly love you." Jesus said to him, "Then be a shepherd to my sheep."

For the third time Jesus asked him, "Simon, son of John, do you really tenderly love me?" Peter was hurt because Jesus the third time asked him, "Do you really tenderly love me?" So he answered Him, "Lord, you know everything; you know that I do tenderly love you." Jesus said to him, "Then feed my sheep.

When they reached the city, they went to the room upstairs where they had been staying; they were: Peter and John, James and Andrew, Philip and Thomas, Bartholomew and Matthew, James the son of Alpheus, Simon the Zealot, and Judas the son of James.

'It will occur in the last days, says God, that I will pour out my Spirit upon all mankind. Your sons and daughters will prophesy. Your young men will have visions. Your old men will have dreams.

Now Joseph, a Levite, a native of Cyprus, who by the apostles was named Barnabas, which means Son of Encouragement,

So they obeyed, and about the break of day they went into the temple square and began to teach. The high priest and his party arrived and called a meeting of the council and the whole senate of the sons of Israel, and sent to the prison to have the men brought in.

and were carried back to Shechem and laid in the tomb which Abraham had bought with a sum of money from the sons of Hamor in Shechem.

When he was exposed, Pharaoh's daughter adopted him and brought him up as her own son. Thus

At this statement Moses fled, and went and lived in the land of Midian, and became the father of two sons.

So he said, "Look! I see heaven open, and the Son of Man standing at God's right hand."

and at once he began to preach in their synagogues that Jesus is the Son of God.

and said, "You expert in every form of deception and sleight-of-hand, you son of the devil, you enemy of all that is right, will you never stop trying to make the Lord's straight paths crooked!

Then they demanded a king, and for forty years God gave them Saul, the son of Kish, a man of the tribe of Benjamin.

Then He deposed him and raised up for them David to be king, to whom He bore this testimony, 'I have found in David, the son of Jesse, a man after my own heart, who will do all that my will requires.'

that God has fulfilled it to us their children, by raising Jesus to life, just as the Scripture says in the Second Psalm, 'You are my Son, today I have become your Father.'

Sceva, a Jewish high priest, had seven sons who were doing this.

He had as companions Sopater, the son of Pyrrhus, from Berea, Aristarchus and Secundus from Thessalonica, Gaius from Derbe, Timothy, and Tychicus and Trophimus from the province of Asia.

Because Paul knew that part of them were Sadducees and part of them Pharisees, he began to cry out in the council chamber, "Brothers, I am a Pharisee, a Pharisee's son, and now I am on trial for the hope of the resurrection of the dead."

about His Son, who on the physical side became a descendant of David, and on the holy, spiritual side

proved to be God's Son in power by the resurrection from the dead -- I mean, Jesus Christ, our Lord,

Indeed, my witness is God, whom I serve in my spirit by telling the good news about His Son, that I never fail to mention you every time I pray,

For if while we were God's enemies, we were reconciled to Him through the death of His Son, it is much more certain that since we have been reconciled we shall finally be saved through His new life.

For though the law could not do it, because it was made helpless through our lower nature, yet God, by sending His own Son in a body similar to that of our lower nature, and as a sacrifice for sin, passed sentence upon sin through His body,

For all who are guided by God's Spirit are God's sons.

For you do not have a sense of servitude to fill you with dread again, but the consciousness of adopted sons by which we cry, "Abba," that is, "Father."

For all nature is expectantly waiting for the unveiling of the sons of God.

Not only that but this too, we ourselves who enjoy the Spirit as a foretaste of the future, even we ourselves, keep up our inner groanings while we wait to enter upon our adoption as God's sons at the redemption of our bodies.

For those on whom He set His heart beforehand He marked off as His own to be made like His Son, that He might be the eldest of many brothers;

Since He did not spare His own Son but gave Him up for us all, will He not with Him graciously give us everything else?

For this is the language of the promise, "About this time next year I will come back, and Sarah will have a son."

For even before the twin sons were born, and though they had done nothing either good or bad, that God's purpose in accordance with His choice might continue to stand, conditioned not on men's actions but on God's calling them,

And in the place where it was said, 'You are no people of mine,' they shall be called sons of the living God."

And Isaiah cries out about Israel, "Although the sons of Israel are as numberless as the sands of the sea, only a remnant of them will be saved,

And again Isaiah says: "The noted Son of Jesse will come, even He who rises to rule the heathen; on Him the heathen will set their hope."

God is entirely trustworthy, and it is He through whom you have been called into this fellowship with His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.

Then what is our conclusion, brothers? When you meet together, everybody has a song, something to teach, a revelation, an ecstatic utterance, or an explanation of one. It must all be for the upbuilding of all.

And when everything has been put in subjection to Him, then the Son Himself will also become subject to Him who has put everything in subjection to Him, so that God may be everything to everybody.

For God's Son, Christ Jesus, who was preached among you by us, Silvanus, Timothy, and me, did not become a "Yes" that might mean "No."

I will be a Father to you, and you will be sons and daughters of mine,' The Lord Almighty said."

chose to unveil His Son in me, so that I might preach the good news about Him among the heathen, at once, before I conferred with any human creatures,

I have been crucified with Christ, and I myself no longer live, but Christ is living in me; the life I now live as a mortal man I live by faith in the Son of God who loved me and gave Himself for me.

For all of you are sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus.

but when the proper time had come, God sent His Son, born of a woman, born subject to law,

to ransom those who were subject to law, so that we might be adopted as sons.

And because you are sons, God has sent the Spirit of His Son into your hearts, crying, "Abba," that is, "Father."

So you are no longer a slave, but a son; and if a son, then an heir by God's own act.

For the Scripture says that Abraham had two sons, one by a slave girl, the other by a free woman.

But what does the Scripture say? "Drive off the slave girl and her son, for the slave girl's son shall never share the inheritance with the son of the free woman."

He foreordained us to become His sons by adoption through Christ Jesus, to carry out the happy choice of His will,

so that we might praise the splendid favor which He has shown us in His beloved Son.

until we all attain to unity in faith and to perfect knowledge of the Son of God, namely, to a mature manhood and to a perfect measure of Christ's moral stature;

But you know his tested character, how like a son in fellowship with his father he has toiled with me like a slave in preaching the good news.

circumcised when I was a week old; a descendant of Israel; a member of the tribe of Benjamin; a Hebrew, a son of Hebrews. Measured by the law, I was a Pharisee;

It is God who has delivered us out of the dominion of darkness and has transferred us into the kingdom of His dearly loved Son,

Yes, He is the exact likeness of the unseen God, His first-born Son who existed before any created thing,

and to wait for the coming from heaven of His Son, whom He raised from the dead, Jesus who delivers us from the wrath to come.

for you are all sons of the light and sons of the day. We do not belong to the night or the darkness.
