The fact that he himself suffered under temptation enables him to help those who are tempted.

For who were they that heard and yet provoked him? Was it not all who came out of Egypt under the leadership of Moses?

But whosoever hath worldly abundance, and seeth his brother under necessity, and shutteth his bowels of compassion against him, how dwelleth the love of God in him?

We know that we are children of God, and that the whole world is under the power of the evil one.
