"Everything that I command you, you shall be careful to do. You shall not add to it or take from it.

I warn everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: if anyone adds to them, God will add to him the plagues described in this book, and if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God will take away his share in the tree of life and in the holy city, which are described in this book.

The word that Isaiah the son of Amoz saw concerning Judah and Jerusalem. It shall come to pass in the latter days that the mountain of the house of the LORD shall be established as the highest of the mountains, and shall be lifted up above the hills; and all the nations shall flow to it, and many peoples shall come, and say: "Come, let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, to the house of the God of Jacob, that he may teach us his ways and that we may walk in his paths." For out of Zion shall go the law, and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem.

So I prophesied as I was commanded. And as I prophesied, there was a sound, and behold, a rattling, and the bones came together, bone to its bone.

So the word of the Lord continued to increase and prevail mightily.

Like newborn infants, long for the pure spiritual milk, that by it you may grow up into salvation--

Therefore put away all filthiness and rampant wickedness and receive with meekness the implanted word, which is able to save your souls. But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man who looks intently at his natural face in a mirror.

And we also thank God constantly for this, that when you received the word of God, which you heard from us, you accepted it not as the word of men but as what it really is, the word of God, which is at work in you believers.

Then he opened their minds to understand the Scriptures,

And beginning with Moses and all the Prophets, he interpreted to them in all the Scriptures the things concerning himself.

And he began to say to them, "Today this Scripture has been fulfilled in your hearing." And all spoke well of him and marveled at the gracious words that were coming from his mouth. And they said, "Is not this Joseph's son?" And he said to them, "Doubtless you will quote to me this proverb, 'Physician, heal yourself.' What we have heard you did at Capernaum, do here in your hometown as well." And he said, "Truly, I say to you, no prophet is acceptable in his hometown. But in truth, I tell you, there were many widows in Israel in the days of Elijah, when the heavens were shut up three years and six months, and a great famine came over all the land, and Elijah was sent to none of them but only to Zarephath, in the land of Sidon, to a woman who was a widow. And there were many lepers in Israel in the time of the prophet Elisha, and none of them was cleansed, but only Naaman the Syrian."

Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth.

Of his own will he brought us forth by the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures.

For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart.

But he said, "Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and keep it!"

The one who rejects me and does not receive my words has a judge; the word that I have spoken will judge him on the last day.

on that day when, according to my gospel, God judges the secrets of men by Christ Jesus.

and if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God will take away his share in the tree of life and in the holy city, which are described in this book.

Then I said, "Behold, I have come; in the scroll of the book it is written of me:

For they are a rebellious people, lying children, children unwilling to hear the instruction of the LORD;

but his delight is in the law of the LORD, and on his law he meditates day and night.

and how from childhood you have been acquainted with the sacred writings, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus.

which he promised beforehand through his prophets in the holy Scriptures,

Much in every way. To begin with, the Jews were entrusted with the oracles of God.

whoever speaks, as one who speaks oracles of God; whoever serves, as one who serves by the strength that God supplies--in order that in everything God may be glorified through Jesus Christ. To him belong glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.

For all who rely on works of the law are under a curse; for it is written, "Cursed be everyone who does not abide by all things written in the Book of the Law, and do them."

And he read from it facing the square before the Water Gate from early morning until midday, in the presence of the men and the women and those who could understand. And the ears of all the people were attentive to the Book of the Law.

Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God.

and take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God,

Is not my word like fire, declares the LORD, and like a hammer that breaks the rock in pieces?

You search the Scriptures because you think that in them you have eternal life; and it is they that bear witness about me,

They replied, "Are you from Galilee too? Search and see that no prophet arises from Galilee."

and take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God,

Whoever despises the word brings destruction on himself, but he who reveres the commandment will be rewarded.

Therefore thus says the LORD, the God of hosts: "Because you have spoken this word, behold, I am making my words in your mouth a fire, and this people wood, and the fire shall consume them.

But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin. If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. When Jesus had spoken these words, he lifted up his eyes to heaven, and said, "Father, the hour has come; glorify your Son that the Son may glorify you, since you have given him authority over all flesh, to give eternal life to all whom you have given him. So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ.

For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek.

And now I commend you to God and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up and to give you the inheritance among all those who are sanctified.

Seek and read from the book of the LORD: Not one of these shall be missing; none shall be without her mate. For the mouth of the LORD has commanded, and his Spirit has gathered them.

But I will tell you what is inscribed in the book of truth: there is none who contends by my side against these except Michael, your prince.

Now these Jews were more noble than those in Thessalonica; they received the word with all eagerness, examining the Scriptures daily to see if these things were so.

and have tasted the goodness of the word of God and the powers of the age to come,

But we have renounced disgraceful, underhanded ways. We refuse to practice cunning or to tamper with God's word, but by the open statement of the truth we would commend ourselves to everyone's conscience in the sight of God.

They read from the book, from the Law of God, clearly, and they gave the sense, so that the people understood the reading.
