Let your manner of life be worthy of the good news about Christ. Whether I come and see you or am absent, I may hear of your conduct, that you stand fast in one spirit (common purpose) (mental disposition) (vital principle), with one mind striving together for the faith of the good news.
Behave with wisdom toward those who are outside, making the most of the time. Let your speech be always with grace, seasoned with salt, that you may know how you ought to answer each one.
I write these things to you, hoping to come to you shortly, though if I am delayed, so that you may know how men ought to behave themselves in the household of God, which is the congregation of the living God, the pillar and support of the truth.
Brace up your minds. Remain sober, and set your hope perfectly on the grace that is to be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ. Live as children of obedience. Maintain fine behavior among the nations. That way when they speak badly about you, they may see your good works and glorify God in the day of visitation (inspection).
Keep a good conscience. When you are spoken against, those who revile your good manner of life in Christ may be put to shame.

Be careful how you walk, not as unwise men but as wise. Make the most of your time (redeem or ransom back time), because the days are evil. Do not be foolish, but understand (perceive) what the will of Jehovah is.
Let no man look down on your youth. Be an example to the believers in speech and conduct, in love, in faith and chasteness.
Remember those who are taking the lead among you, men that spoke the Word of God to you. Consider their behavior and imitate their faith.
In like manner, you wives, be in subjection to your own husbands. Even if your husband does not obey God's word, he may be won without a word by observing the way you live.
Have this attitude (mind-set) (understanding) (mental state) in you that was also in Christ Jesus.

They may train the young women to love their husbands, to love their children, to be sober minded, chaste, workers at home, kind, being in subjection to their own husbands, that the word of God will not be (defamed) dishonored. Urge the younger men to be sound in mind. Be an example of good works in all things, showing no corruption in your doctrine. Have sound speech that cannot be condemned so the man opposing us may be ashamed and have nothing bad to say about us. Servants should to be in subjection to their masters (overseers) (employers). They should please them in all things and not talk back. They should not steal from them, but should show good fidelity that they may adorn the doctrine of God our Savior in all things. For the grace (divine influence) of God has been revealed, bringing salvation to all men, instructing us, to the intent that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly and righteously and godly in this present age (world) (period of time). Look for the blessed hope and appearance of the glory of the great God. And look for our Savior, Jesus Christ. He (Jesus Christ) gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify a people for himself, who are special people, zealous for good works. Speak and exhort and reprove these things with all authority. Let no man despise you.
Finally, all of you be like-minded, compassionate, brotherly, tenderhearted, and humble. Do not repay evil for evil, or insult for insult. Do just the opposite. For you were called to inherit a blessing. Whoever would love life and see good days should keep his tongue from evil and his lips from speaking deceit. read more.
Let him turn away from evil, and do good. Let him seek peace, and pursue it. The eyes of Jehovah (God) are upon the righteous. His ears hear their prayers. But the face (person) of Jehovah is against those who do evil.

The holy women of old, who hoped in God, adorned themselves this way, being submissive to their own husbands. Sarah obeyed Abraham and called him lord. You are her children now, if you do what is right and are not fearful. In the same way, you husbands live with your wives in an understanding way. Honor the woman as the weaker vessel.
