We do not see any signs of God's presence; there are no longer any prophets and we have no one to tell us how long this will last.

The musicians, the descendants of Asaph, manned their posts, as prescribed by David, Asaph, Heman, and Jeduthun the king's prophet. The guards at the various gates did not need to leave their posts, for their fellow Levites made preparations for them.
King David's accomplishments, from start to finish, are recorded in the Annals of Samuel the prophet, the Annals of Nathan the prophet, and the Annals of Gad the prophet.
When David got up the next morning, the Lord had already spoken to Gad the prophet, David's seer:

It will belong to Aaron and his sons, and they must eat it in a holy place because it is most holy to him, a perpetual allotted portion from the gifts of the Lord."
And you may eat it in any place, you and your household, because it is your wages for your service in the tent of meeting.

When the Israelites cried out for help to the Lord, he raised up a deliverer for the Israelites who rescued them. His name was Othniel son of Kenaz, Caleb's younger brother.
The Lord raised up leaders who delivered them from these robbers.
