Just as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, so must the Son of Man be lifted up,

Just as the Father raises the dead and gives them life, so also the Son gives life to those he chooses.

Just as the Father has life in himself, so also he has granted the Son to have life in himself,

Just as the Father has loved me, so I have loved you. So abide in my love.

If you keep my commandments, you'll abide in my love, just as I have kept my Father's commandments and abide in his love.

I have given them your word, and the world has hated them, because they do not belong to the world, just as I don't belong to the world.
