Then amazement came over them all; they talked it over among themselves, saying, "What does this mean? He orders the unclean spirits with authority and power, and they come out!"

No sound tree bears rotten fruit, nor again does a rotten tree bear sound fruit:

For though I am a man under authority myself, I have soldiers under me; I tell one man to go, and he goes, I tell another to come, and he comes, I tell my servant, 'Do this,' and he does it."

He who is not with me is against me, and he who does not gather with me scatters.

that servant's lord and master will arrive on a day when he does not expect him and at an hour which he does not know; he will cut him in two and assign him the fate of unbelievers.

"If anyone comes to me and does not hate his father and mother and wife and children and brothers and sisters, aye and his own life, he cannot be a disciple of mine;

For which of you wants to build a tower and does not first sit down to calculate the expense, to see if he has enough money to complete it? ??29 in case, after he has laid the foundation and then is unable to finish the building, all the spectators start to make fun of him,

"Which of you with a hundred sheep, if he loses one, does not leave the ninety-nine in the desert and go after the lost one till he finds it?

Or again, suppose a woman has ten shillings. If she loses one of them, does she not light a lamp and scour the house and search carefully till she finds it?

Does he thank the servant for doing his bidding?

I tell you, he will quickly see justice done to his elect! And yet, when the Son of man does come, will he find faith on earth?"

who does not receive ever so much more in this present world, and in the world to come life eternal."
