Therefore tell them, So says the Lord Jehovah: I will make this proverb to cease, and they shall no more use it as a proverb in Israel. But say to them, The days are at hand, and the fulfillment of every vision.

Behold, all who use proverbs shall use this proverb against you, saying, As the mother, so is her daughter.

What is it to you that you use this proverb concerning the land of Israel, saying, The fathers have eaten sour grapes and the teeth of the sons are dull?

As I live, says the Lord Jehovah, to you there is no longer any occasion to use this proverb in Israel.

The people of the land have used oppression and practiced robbery, and they have troubled the poor and needy. Yea, they have oppressed the stranger without right.

And the upper chambers were shorter; for the galleries used up more space than the lower and middle ones in the building.
