And LORD, for thy servant's sake, even according to thine own heart thou hast done all this magnificence,

And David went out to them and answered and said to them, "If ye be come peaceably unto me, to help me, mine heart shall be together with you. And of Manasseh, there fell certain unto David when he went with the Philistines against Saul to battle, but helped them not. For the lords of the Philistines took counsel and sent him away saying, "He will fall to his master Saul to the Jeopardy of our heads."

And of the half tribe of Manasseh eighteen thousand which were appointed by name to go to make David king.

For David said, "The LORD God of Israel hath given rest unto his people, and they shall dwell in Jerusalem forever.

And they stepped forth into the midst of the furlong and saved it and slew the Philistines. And the LORD gave a great victory.

And Ornan said to David, "Take it to thee, and let my lord king do that seemeth good in his eyes. See, I give thee oxen for a burnt sacrifice, and the threshing sleds for wood, and wheat for meat offering: I give it all."

when the LORD carried away Juda and Jerusalem by the hand of Nebuchadnezzar, went with them.

Benaiah the son of Jehoiada the son of a strong man that had done great deeds and was of Kabzeel: he slew two strong lions of Moab, and went down and slew a Lion in a pit in time of snow.

These all are the sons of David, beside the sons of his concubines and Tamar their sister.

These be the sons of Israel: Reuben, Simeon, Levi, Judah, Issachar and Zebulun;

And Bakbakkar the carpenter and Galal. And Mattaniah the son of Mica, the son of Zichri the son of Asaph.

and his son Tahath; and Uriel was his son, and Uzziah his son, and Shaul was his son.

and his son Joah, and his son Iddo, and his son Zerah, and his son Jeatherai.

And he was much more nobler than any of the three, and was their captain. But was not like to any of the three in acts.

And Barachiah and Elkanah kept the door of the Ark.

These are the kings that reigned in the land of Edom before any king reigned among the children of Israel: Bela the son of Beor, and the name of his city was Dinhabah.

And Shebaniah, Jehoshaphat, Nathaniel, Amasai, Zachariah, Benaiah and Eliezer, priests, were blowers with trumpets before the Ark of God. And Obededom and Jehiah were keepers of the door of the Ark.

The sons of Ephraim: Shuthelah, whose son was Bered, and Tahath his son, and his son Eleadah, and Tahath his son,

And Machir gave to Huppim and Shuppim wives. And the name of his sister was Maacah. And the name of another son was Zelophehad. And Zelophehad had daughters.

The sons of Issachar: Tola, Puah, Jashub and Shimron, four.

The sons of Jeconiah the Prisoner were Shealtiel,

And Maacah the wife of Machir bare a son and called his name Peresh, and the name of his brother was Sheresh and his sons were Ulam and Rakem. The son of Ulam was Bedan.

For unto the time they had watched at the king's gate eastward in the tents of the children of Levi by companies.

The porters were Shallum, Akkub, Talmon and Ahiman with their brethren - Shallum being the chief.

And these be the names of the sons of Gershom: Libni and Shimei.

And the Philistines fought against Israel. And the men of Israel fled before the Philistines and were overthrown and slain in mount Gilboa.

And these following came to David to Ziklag, while he yet kept himself close for fear of Saul the son of Kish: and they were of the men that succored the battle,

And Jerijah was the chiefest among the kindreds and fathers of the Hebronites. And in the fortieth year of the kingdom of David they were sought for. And there were found of them men of activity at Jazer in Gilead.

The sons of Reuben of Gad and of half the tribe of Manasseh, even of fighting men able to bear shield and sword, and shoot with bow, and taught to make war, were four and forty thousand seven hundred and three score that went out to battle.

For the Levites were committed to be principal porters of fidelity. And they had the oversight of the vestries and treasures of the house of God,

And all Israel were numbered by kindreds: and see, they be written in the Book of the Kings of Israel. And Judah were carried away to Babylon for their offenses.

The sons of Kenaz: Othniel and Seraiah. And the sons of Othniel were Hathath.

and his son Elkanah, and his son Ebiasaph, and his son Assir,

And they dwelt in Gilead and in Bashan and her towns, and in all the suburbs of Sharon, even unto the end of their borders.

And Eshton begat Bethrapha and Paseah and Tehinnah the father of the city of Nahash - which are the men of Rechah.

The sons of Lotan: Hori and Homam; and Timna was Lotan's sister.

And Caleb the son of Hezron begat Azubah, a woman, and Jerioth whose sons are these: Jesher, Shobab and Ardon.

And Abigail bare Amasa the father of which Amasa was Jether an Ishmaelite.

But after the death of Hadad, there were dukes in Edom:

And the children of half the tribe of Manasseh dwelt in the land, from Bashan unto Baalhermon and Senir and unto mount Hermon, and they were many.

And Meonothai begat Ophrah. And Seraiah begat Joab the father of them of the valley of craftsmen, so-called because they were craftsmen.

And after the death of Hadad, Samlah of Masrekah reigned in his stead.

219

Now therefore go to and bless the house of thy servant, that it may continue before thee forever. For what thou blessest, O LORD that is blessed forever."

And they went from people to people, and from one kingdom to another nation.

221

And when God had helped the Levites that bare the Ark of the Covenant of the LORD, they offered seven oxen and seven rams.

222

And they were all reckoned by kindreds in the days of Jotham king of Judah, and in the days of Jeroboam king of Israel.

weaponed with bows, and could handle stones, arrows and bow as well with the left hand as with the right, and were of Saul's brethren, even of the tribe of Benjamin.

And thy name continue and wax great forever, that it be said, 'the LORD of Hosts, the God of Israel is God in Israel, and the house of David thy servant be stable before thee.'

Zebadiah, Meshullam, Hizki, Heber,

And these were the heads of the ancient households of them: Epher, Ishi, Eliel, Azriel, Jeremiah, Hodaviah, Jahdiel, men of great power, men of name and heads of the ancient households of them.

And Ahaz was his son, and Hezekiah was son to him, and Manasseh was his son.

Nethanel the fourth, Raddai the fifth,

And Jehoiada was the chief of them of Aaron and with him three thousand and seven hundred.

And Zechariah the son of Meshelemiah kept the door of the tabernacle of witness.

And his sister Hammolecheth bare Ishhod, Abiezer and Mahlah.

God stirred up the spirit of Pul, king of Assyria, and the spirit of Tilgathpilneser, king of Assyria, and carried away the Reubenites, the Gadites and the half tribe of Manasseh, and brought them unto Halah, Habor, Hara and to the River Gozan, where they remain unto this day.

And they were helped against them, and the Hagrites were delivered into their hands with all that were with the Hagrites. For they cried to God in their battle, and he heard them, because they trusted to him.

234

And they fought with the Hagrities and with Jetur, Naphish and Nodab.

And the sons of Caleb the son of Jephunneh were Iru, Elah and Naam. And the son of Elah was Kenaz.

and his son Eliab and Jeroham his son, and Elkanah his son,

For the tabernacle of the LORD which Moses made in the wilderness, and the altar of burnt offering were that season in the hill at Gibeon.

And to wait on every offering of burnt sacrifices unto the LORD, the Sabbaths and first days of the months, and other feastful days by number and custom, was their office ever before the LORD.

And these cast lots next to their brethren the sons of Aaron, before David the king and Zadok and Ahimelech and the ancient heads and priests of the Levites: as well the youngest brother as an ancient head.

And David said to Solomon his son, "Harden thyself and be strong and do it. Fear not, nor let thine heart discourage thee. For the LORD my God is with thee, and shall not leave thee nor forsake thee, until thou hast finished all the work that must serve for the house of the LORD.

And David and the elders of Israel and the Captains over thousands went to fetch the Ark of the Covenant of the LORD out of the house of Obededom with gladness.

Moreover, let the trees of the wood ring at the presence of the LORD: for he cometh to judge the earth.

Moreover, I have prepared with all my might for the house of God: gold for things of gold, and silver for things of silver, brass for things of brass, iron for things of iron, and wood for things of wood: and onyx stones, set stones, and of other gay stones, and all manner of precious stones, and of marble great abundance.

And then David said, "The Ark of God ought not to be carried but of the Levites. For them hath the LORD chosen to bear the Ark of the LORD and to minister to him forever."

Whereby David perceived that the LORD had prepared him to be king upon Israel, in that his kingdom was lifted up on high, because of his people Israel.

But the word of the LORD came to me, saying, 'Thou hast shed much blood, and hast made many battles. Thou shalt not build a house for my name, for thou hast shed much blood to the earth in my sight.

And for the altar of cense of tried gold by weight. And the similitude of the seat of the Cherubs that stretched out their wings and covered the Ark of the Covenant of the LORD.

And so David brought not the Ark home to him in the city of David: But turned it in to the house of Obededom o Gittite,

And all the congregation was content so to do, for the thing seemed good in the eyes of all the people.

And the LORD was wroth with Uzzah and smote him, because he put his hand to the Ark.

Then David asked God, And God said to him, "Go not after them, but turn away from them, and come upon them straight from the pear trees.

And the Philistines came and pranced in the valley of Rephaim.

O LORD our God, all this heap that we have prepared to build thee a house for thy holy name, cometh of thine hand, and is all thine.

And he said unto me, 'Solomon thy son, he shall build my house and my courts, for I have chosen him to be my son, and I will be his father,

And they put them in order by lot, one with another that there should be rulers in the sanctuary and lords before God as well of the sons of Ithamar as of the sons of Eleazar.

He shall build me a house, and I will establish his seat forever.

and the example of all that was in his mind, both of the courts of the house of the LORD and of the treasure houses round about, for the treasures of the house of God and for the treasure of the dedicated gifts,

"All was given me by writing of the hand of the LORD, which made me understand all the workmanship of the pattern."

the lords of the children of Ammon said to Hanun, "Thinkest thou that David doth honour thy father in thy sight, that he hath sent comforters unto thee? Nay, but it is to search and overthrow and to spy out the land, that his servants be come unto thee."

And now I say unto you before all Israel, the congregation of the LORD, and in the audience of our God: keep and seek for all the commandments of the LORD your God, that ye may enjoy a good land and inherit your children after you forever.

Think on his covenant ever, and on the word he commanded to a thousand generations.

As concerning the sons of Ladan which were Gershonites: Ladan had ancient fathers. Ladan the Gershonite had Jehieli.

And Shimeah the son of Nethanel the Scribe of the Levites wrote them before the king and the lords, and before Zadok the priest and Ahimelech the son of Abiathar, and before the ancient heads of the priests and of the Levites: one principal household for Eleazar and one for Ithamar.

Behold: in mine adversity I have prepared for the house of the LORD a hundred thousand talents of gold and a thousand, thousand talents of silver, and as for brass and iron it cannot be numbered, it is so much. And I have prepared timber and stone, and shalt provide more thereto.

Among the Amramites, Izrahites, Hebronites, and Uzzielites,

And the Levites were numbered from thirty years and above, and the tale of them in men, poll by poll, was thirty eight thousand.

And from Tibhath and Cun, cities of Hadadezer, brought David exceeding much brass. Wherewith Solomon made the brazen sea and the pillars and the vessels of brass.

And Joab answered, "The LORD make thy people a hundred times so many more as they be. But my lord king, are they not all my lord's servants? Why then doth my lord require this thing? Why should my lord be a cause of trespass to Israel?"

The sons of Amram: Aaron and Moses. And Aaron was appointed to consecrate in the place most holy, with his sons forever: and to burn the offerings before the LORD, and to minister, and to bless in his name forever.

But the Syrians fled before Israel, and David destroyed of the Syrians seven thousand chariots, and slew forty thousand footmen and killed Shophach the Captain of the host.

Then came the Syrians of Damascus to help Hadadezer king of Zobah. And David slew of the Syrians twenty two thousand,

And yet this seemed little in thine eyes O God. But that thou shouldest speak of thy servant's house for a great while to come: and hast looked upon me as upon a man of high degree, O LORD God.

And Jahath was the chief, Zina the second. But Jeush and Beriah had not many sons, and therefore they were reckoned for one ancient household.

and of Cedar trees without number. For the Sidonians and they of Tyre brought much Cedar wood to David.

And David prepared plenty of iron for nails to the doors of the gates and to join with all, and abundance of brass without weight,

Praise his holy name, and let the hearts of them that seek the LORD rejoice!

And he dealt all Israel both man and woman a cracknel of bread, a piece of flesh and a mess of sops.

And there he died before God. And David was displeased, because the LORD had rent a rent in Uzzah, and called the said place Perezuzzah unto this day.

Unto these was divided the office of the portership as unto heads over the men that waited with their brethren and ministered in the house of the LORD.

And David asked God, saying, "Shall I go against the Philistines and wilt thou deliver them into mine hands?" And the LORD said to him: "Go, for I will deliver them into thine hand."

And David said to all the congregation, "Bless the LORD your God." And all the congregation blessed the LORD God of their fathers, and stooped and bowed themselves unto the LORD and to the king.

And the weight of gold for the tables of shewbread, table by table: and likewise silver for the tables of silver.

Take heed now, for the LORD hath chosen thee, to build a house of thy sanctuary. Be strong and do it."

And the rulers over the tribes of Israel were these. Among the Reubenites, was Eliezer the son of Zichri. Among the Simeonites, was Shephatiah the son of Maacah.

And Hosah of the children of Merari, had sons: Shimri the chief, yet he was not the eldest, but his father made him the chiefest.

All these were at the hand of their father to sing in the house of the LORD with cymbals, psalteries and harps in the service of the house of God. And at the hand of the king was Asaph, Jeduthun and Heman:

And Gad came to David and said to him, "Thus sayeth the LORD:

Whereupon Hanun took David's servants and shaved them, and cut off their coats hard by their buttocks and sent them away.

I will be his father and he shall be my son, and I will not put my mercy away from him as I did from him that was before thee.

And king David dedicated them also unto the LORD with the silver and gold that he brought from all nations, from the Edomites, from the Moabites, from the children of Ammon, from the Philistines, from the Amalekites.

And the children of the Levites bare the Ark of God upon their shoulders with staves thereon as Moses commanded according to the word of the LORD.

And the East lot fell to Shelemiah. And for Zachariah his son, a wise counselor, they cast lots, and his lot came out toward the North.

And Meshelemiah had sons and brethren, active men, eighteen.

And God was displeased with this thing, and smote Israel.

And David took the shields of gold that were on the servants of Hadadezer and brought them to Jerusalem.

And Jonathan the son of Shimea, David's brother, slew him.

And these now afore written by name went in the days of Hezekiah king of Judah, and smote the tents of them and the habitations that were found there, and destroyed them utterly unto this day, and there dwelt in their rooms: because there was pasture there for their sheep.

And unto the sons of Gershom were given out of the kindred of the half tribe of Manasseh: Golan in Bashan with her suburbs and Ashtaroth with her suburbs.

And of gold, silver, brass and iron there is no number. Up, therefore, and set upon it, and the LORD shall be with thee."
