Now all this took place, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the Lord through the prophet, saying,

For this is he that was spoken of through Isaiah the prophet, saying, "The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare the way of the Lord, make straight his paths!"

But when the unclean spirit is gone out from a man, it goeth through dry places, seeking rest, and findeth it not.

Woe to the world because of stumblingblocks! For it must needs be that stumblingblocks come; but woe to the man through whom the stumblingblock cometh!

And again I say to you, It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven.

When, therefore, ye see the abomination of desolation, spoken of through Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place, (let him that readeth understand,)

But be sure of this, that if the master of the house had known in what watch the thief was coming, he would have watched, and would not have suffered his house to be broken through.

Then was fulfilled that which was spoken through Jeremiah the prophet, saying, "And they took the thirty pieces of silver, the price of him that was priced, whom they of the sons of Israel priced,
