It seemed good to me also, having had perfect understanding of all things from the very first, to write unto you in order, most excellent Theophilus,

And there appeared unto him an angel of the Lord standing on the right side of the altar of incense.

And he asked for a writing tablet, and wrote, saying, His name is John. And they marveled all.

And now also the ax is laid unto the root of the trees: every tree therefore which brings not forth good fruit is cut down, and cast into the fire.

And he came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up: and, as his custom was, he went into the synagogue on the sabbath day, and stood up to read.

And Jesus answering them said, Have you not read so much as this, what David did, when he was hungry, and they who were with him;

And it came to pass also on another sabbath, that he entered into the synagogue and taught: and there was a man whose right hand was withered.

And when the messengers of John were departed, he began to speak unto the people concerning John, What went you out into the wilderness to see? A reed shaken with the wind?

Those on the rock are they, who, when they hear, receive the word with joy; and these have no root, who for awhile believe, and in time of temptation fall away.

Then they went out to see what was done; and came to Jesus, and found the man, out of whom the demons were departed, sitting at the feet of Jesus, clothed, and in his right mind: and they were afraid.

He said unto him, What is written in the law? how read you?

And he said unto him, You have answered right: this do, and you shall live.

Yea, and why even of yourselves judge you not what is right?

It was right that we should make merry, and be glad: for this your brother was dead, and is alive again; and was lost, and is found.

And he said, A hundred measures of oil. And he said unto him, Take your bill, and sit down quickly, and write fifty.

Then said he to another, And how much owe you? And he said, A hundred measures of wheat. And he said unto him, Take your bill, and write fourscore.

And the Lord said, If you had faith as a grain of mustard seed, you could say unto this sycamine tree, Be plucked up by the root, and be planted in the sea; and it would obey you.

Saying, Teacher, Moses wrote unto us, If any man's brother dies, having a wife, and he dies without children, that his brother should take his wife, and raise up children for his brother.

And David himself said in the book of Psalms, The Lord said unto my Lord, Sit on my right hand,

And one of them struck the servant of the high priest, and cut off his right ear.

Hereafter shall the Son of man sit on the right hand of the power of God.

And when they were come to the place, which is called Calvary, there they crucified him, and the malefactors, one on the right hand, and the other on the left.
