But one in a certain place bore testimony, saying, "What is man, that thou art mindful of him, or the son of man, that thou carest for him?

For he hath spoken in a certain place of the seventh day thus: "And God rested on the seventh day from all his works;"

and in this place again: "They shall not enter into my rest."

as also he saith in another place, "Thou art a priest for ever, after the order of Melchizedek."

saying, "Surely blessing I will bless thee, and multiplying I will multiply thee."

For if the priesthood is changed, there takes place of necessity a change of the law.

For on the one hand there takes place an annulling of the commandment which went before, on account of its weakness and unprofitableness,

For if that first covenant had been faultless, then a place would not have been sought for a second.

For a tabernacle was prepared, the first, wherein was the candlestick, and the table, and the showbread; which is called the holy place:

And for this cause he is the mediator of a new covenant, that, death having taken place for redemption from the transgressions under the first covenant, they who have been called may receive the everlasting inheritance which was promised.

Nor yet to make an offering of himself many times, as the highpriest entereth into the holy place every year with blood of others;

By faith Abraham, when called, obeyed to go forth to a place which he was afterward to receive for an inheritance, and went forth, not knowing whither he was going.

For ye know that when he afterward wished to inherit the blessing, he was rejected; for he found no place for repentance, though he sought it earnestly with tears.
