And you will there serve gods {made by human hands}, [of] wood and stone, [gods] that cannot see and cannot hear and cannot eat and cannot smell.

and the red kite and the black kite or {any kind of falcon},

and any [kind] of crow according to its kind,

and the {ostrich} and the short-eared owl and the seagull and the hawk according to its kind,

and the stork and the heron according to its kind and the hoopoe and the bat.

"You shall count [off] seven weeks for you; {from the time you begin to harvest the standing grain} you shall begin to count seven weeks.

"When you make a loan to your neighbor, a loan of any kind, you shall not go into his house {to take his pledge}.

'Cursed be the one who lies with any [kind] of animal.' And all the people shall say, 'Amen.'

"Yahweh shall afflict you with the boils of Egypt and with tumors and with the scurvy and with {the skin rash that cannot be healed}.

Bless, O Yahweh, his substance, and with the work of his hands you must be pleased; smite the loins of those who attack him, and those hating him, {so that they cannot arise}."
