For by the last words of David the Levites were numbered from twenty years old and above:

They cast lots for their duties, young and old alike, teacher as well as pupil.

They cast lots for each gate according to their ancestral houses, young and old alike.

But David took not the number of them from twenty years old and under: because the LORD had said he would increase Israel like to the stars of the heavens.

And now our God, we thank thee, and praise thy glorious name. For what am I? And what is my people, that would obtain strength to be so willing?
