You are not to ascend to my altar on steps, so that your nakedness may not be exposed on it.'"

Now these are the judgments which thou shalt set before them.

If you get a Hebrew servant for money, he is to be your servant for six years, and in the seventh year you are to let him go free without payment.

if his lord give to him a wife, and she hath borne to him sons or daughters -- the wife and her children are her lord's, and he goeth out by himself.

But if the servant says clearly, My master and my wife and children are dear to me; I have no desire to be free:

And if he takes another woman, her food and clothing and her married rights are not to be less.

If a man acts deliberately against his neighbor, to kill him by treachery, you are to take him to die even if he's at my altar.

But and if they continue a day or two, it shall not be avenged for they are his money.

“When men get in a fight and hit a pregnant woman so that her children are born prematurely but there is no injury, the one who hit her must be fined as the woman’s husband demands from him, and he must pay according to judicial assessment.

If there is harm, then you are to require life for life,

"If a man's ox strikes his neighbor's ox and it dies, they are to sell the live ox and divide the money. They also are to divide the dead animal.

If fire break out, and catch in thorns, so that the shocks of grain, or the standing grain, or the field are consumed; he that kindled the fire shall surely make restitution.

“When a man gives his neighbor money or goods to keep, but they are stolen from that person’s house, the thief, if caught, must repay double.

the two of them are to take an oath in the LORD's presence that the accused has not taken his neighbor's property. Its owner is to accept this, and the neighbor is not to make restitution.

"You are not to allow a sorceress to live.

"You are not to wrong or oppress an alien, because you were aliens in the land of Egypt.

"You are not to mistreat any widow or orphan.

If you are cruel to them in any way, and their cry comes up to me, I will certainly give ear;

"If you lend money to any of my people who are needy among you, do not be like a moneylender to him; do not charge him interest.

If you take your neighbor's coat as collateral, you are to return it to him by sunset,

"You are not to blaspheme God or curse a ruler of your people.

"You are not to hold back the fullness of your harvest and the outflow of your wine presses. You are to give to me the firstborn of your sons.

Do the same with your cattle and your flock. Let them stay with their mothers for seven days, but on the eighth day you are to give them to Me.

"You are to be people set apart for me. You are not to eat flesh torn apart in the field; you are to throw it to the dogs."

"You are not to spread a false report, nor are you to join forces with the wicked to be a malicious witness.

You are not to follow the majority in doing wrong, and you are not to testify in a lawsuit so as to follow the majority and pervert justice.

You are not to show partiality to a poor man in his lawsuit.

"If you come across your enemy's ox or donkey wandering off, you are to certainly return it to him.

If you see your enemy's donkey lying helpless under its load, you must not abandon it; rather, you are certainly to return it to him.

"You are not to pervert justice for the poor among you in their lawsuits.

And thou shalt take no bribe; for the bribe blindeth those whose eyes are open, and perverteth the words of the righteous.

You are not to oppress the resident alien, because you were aliens in the land of Egypt."

"For six years you are to sow your land and gather in its produce.

But during the seventh year you are to let it rest and leave it uncultivated, so that the poor among your people may eat from it and the wild animals may consume what they leave. Do the same with your vineyard and your olive grove.

For six days you are to do your work, but on the seventh day you must cease, in order that your ox and your donkey may rest and that your female servant's son and any hired help may refresh themselves.

"Three times a year you are to celebrate a festival for me.

You are to observe the Feast of Unleavened Bread; seven days you must eat bread made without yeast, as I commanded you, at the appointed time of the month of Abib, for at that time you came out of Egypt. No one may appear before me empty-handed.

"You are also to observe the Feast of Harvest, the firstfruits of your labors that you have sown in the field, and the Feast of Ingathering at the end of the year when you have gathered in your harvest out of the field.

Three times a year all your males are to appear before the Lord God.

"You are not to offer the blood of my sacrifice with anything leavened, and you are not to let the fat portion of my sacrifice remain overnight until morning.

"You are to bring the best of the first fruits of your soil to the house of the LORD your God. "You are not to boil a young goat in its mother's milk."

But if you truly give ear to his voice, and do whatever I say, then I will be against those who are against you, fighting those who are fighting you.

You are not to bow down to their gods or serve them. You are not to follow their practices, but you are to overthrow them completely and smash their sacred stones to pieces.

You are to serve the LORD your God, and he will bless your food and water, and I'll remove sickness from you.

"I'll go ahead of you and terrorize all the people to whom you are coming. I'll confuse your enemies and make them turn their backs on you and run away.

I will drive them out before you little by little, until you have increased and are strong enough to take possession of the land.

"I'll set your borders from the Reed Sea to the Sea of the Philistines, and from the desert to the River, bringing the inhabitants of the land under your control, and you are to drive them out ahead of you.

You are not to make a covenant with them or with their gods.

They are not to live in your land. Otherwise they will cause you to sin against me. If you worship their gods, it will become a snare for you."

Moses alone is to approach the Lord, but the others are not to approach, and the people are not to go up with him.”

Moses came and told the people all the Lord's words and all the decisions. All the people answered together, "We are willing to do all the words that the Lord has said,"

He took the Book of the Covenant and read it aloud to the people, and they said, "We are willing to do and obey all that the Lord has spoken."

and unto those of the sons of Israel who are near He hath not put forth His hand, and they see God, and eat and drink.

And he said unto the elders, Tarry ye here for us, until we come again unto you: and, behold, Aaron and Hur are with you: if any man have any matters to do, let him come unto them.

"Tell the Israelites to take an offering for me; from every person motivated by a willing heart you are to receive my offering.

This is the offering you are to accept from them: gold, silver, bronze,

ram's skins that are red, and the skins of taxus, and sethim-wood,

“They are to make a sanctuary for Me so that I may dwell among them.

This is how you are to make it: according to all that I'm showing you, according to the pattern for the tent and the pattern for all its furnishings."

"They are to make an ark of acacia wood -- its length is to be three feet nine inches, its width two feet three inches, and its height two feet three inches.

You are to overlay it with pure gold -- both inside and outside you must overlay it, and you are to make a surrounding border of gold over it.

You are to cast four gold rings for it and put them on its four feet, with two rings on one side and two rings on the other side.

You are to make poles of acacia wood, overlay them with gold,

You are to put the poles into the rings on the sides of the ark with which to carry it.

The poles are to remain in the rings of the ark; they must not be removed from it.

You are to put into the ark the testimony that I will give to you.

"You are to make an atonement lid of pure gold; its length is to be three feet nine inches, and its width is to be two feet three inches.

You are to make two cherubim of gold; you are to make them of hammered metal on the two ends of the atonement lid.

Make one cherub on one end and one cherub on the other end; from the atonement lid you are to make the cherubim on the two ends.

The cherubim are to be spreading their wings upward, overshadowing the atonement lid with their wings, and the cherubim are to face each other, looking toward the atonement lid.

You are to put the atonement lid on top of the ark, and in the ark you are to put the testimony I am giving you.

And there I will meet with thee, and I will commune with thee from above the mercy seat, from between the two cherubims which are upon the ark of the testimony, of all things which I will give thee in commandment unto the children of Israel.

"You are to make a table of acacia wood; its length is to be three feet, its width one foot six inches, and its height two feet three inches.

You are to overlay it with pure gold, and you are to make a surrounding border of gold for it.

You are to make a surrounding frame for it about three inches broad, and you are to make a surrounding border of gold for its frame.

And thou shalt make for it four rings of gold, and put the rings in the four corners that are on the four feet thereof.

The rings are to be close to the frame to provide places for the poles to carry the table.

You are to make the poles of acacia wood and overlay them with gold, so that the table may be carried with them.

You are to make its plates, its ladles, its pitchers, and its bowls, to be used in pouring out offerings; you are to make them of pure gold.

You are to set the Bread of the Presence on the table before me continually.

"You are to make a lampstand of pure gold. The lampstand is to be made of hammered metal; its base and its shaft, its cups, its buds, and its blossoms are to be from the same piece.

Six branches are to extend from the sides of the lampstand, three branches of the lampstand from one side of it and three branches of the lampstand from the other side of it.

Three cups shaped like almond flowers with buds and blossoms are to be on one branch, and three cups shaped like almond flowers with buds and blossoms are to be on the next branch, and the same for the six branches extending from the lampstand.

On the lampstand there are to be four cups shaped like almond flowers with buds and blossoms,

and a knop under two branches of the same, and a knop under two branches of the same, and a knop under two branches of the same, are to the six branches which are coming out of the candlestick;

Their calyxes and branches are to be of one piece. All of it is to be a single hammered piece of pure gold.

"You are to make its seven lamps, and then set its lamps up on it, so that it will give light to the area in front of it.

Its trimmers and its trays are to be of pure gold.

Now see that you make them according to the pattern for them which you are being shown on the mountain."

"The tabernacle itself you are to make with ten curtains of fine twisted linen and blue and purple and scarlet; you are to make them with cherubim that are the work of an artistic designer.

The length of each curtain should be 42 feet, and the width of each curtain six feet; all the curtains are to have the same measurements.

Five curtains are to be joined, one to another, and the other five curtains are to be joined, one to another.

You are to make loops of blue material along the edge of the end curtain in one set, and in the same way you are to make loops in the outer edge of the end curtain in the second set.

You are to make fifty loops on the one curtain, and you are to make fifty loops on the end curtain which is on the second set, so that the loops are opposite one to another.

You are to make fifty gold clasps and join the curtains together with the clasps, so that the tabernacle is a unit.

"You are to make curtains of goats' hair for a tent over the tabernacle; you are to make eleven curtains.

The length of each curtain should be 45 feet and the width of each curtain six feet. All 11 curtains are to have the same measurements.

You are to join five curtains by themselves and six curtains by themselves. You are to double over the sixth curtain at the front of the tent.

You are to make fifty loops along the edge of the end curtain in one set and fifty loops along the edge of the curtain that joins the second set.

You are to make fifty bronze clasps and put the clasps into the loops and join the tent together so that it is a unit.
