This man, forming crafty designs against our nation, grievously treated our fathers, so as to cause them to expose their children, in order to exterminate the race.

And though they found no cause of death in him, they besought Pilate that he might be killed.

For we are even in danger of being called to account for this day's insurrection, there being no cause on account of which we can justify this tumultuary concourse:
