Many there are who say of my soul, There is no help for him in God. Selah.

Arise, O LORD. Save me, O my God. For thou have smitten all my enemies upon the cheek bone. Thou have broken the teeth of the wicked.

Many there are who say, Who will show us good? LORD, lift thou up the light of thy countenance upon us.

Hearken to the voice of my cry, my King, and my God, for to thee do I pray.

LORD will cut off all flattering lips, the tongue that speaks great things,

Their sorrows shall be multiplied who give gifts for another [god]. Their drink-offerings of blood I will not offer, nor take their names upon my lips.

The words of his mouth are iniquity and deceit. He has ceased to be wise [and] to do good.

He devises iniquity upon his bed. He sets himself in a way that is not good. He does not abhor evil.

How precious is thy loving kindness, O God, and the sons of men take refuge under the shadow of thy wings.
