let the enemy of my soul pursue, and overtake and trample my life into the ground, and lay my honor in the dust. Selah

Those who seek my life lay snares as well, and those intent on my harm speak threats. They also plot deceit all day.

My soul [is] among lions. I lie down [among those who] devour-- the children of humankind whose teeth [are] spears and arrows and whose tongues [are] sharp swords.

For look, they lie in wait for my life. The mighty attack against me, not [because of] my transgression or my sin, O Yahweh.

Only a vapor [are] men of low degree, a deception [are] men of high degree. {Weighed} in a balance, together they [are lighter] than a vapor.

Though you [men] lie down between the sheepfolds, [you will be like the] wings of a dove covered in silver and its pinions in yellow gold."

rather God [is the] judge; one he brings low, and another he lifts up.

Do not remember against us former iniquities; let your mercies meet us quickly because we are brought very low.

Even a bird finds a home, and a swallow a nest for herself, where she may lay her young, near your altars, O Yahweh [of] hosts, my king and my God.

If his sons forsake my law and do not walk in my judgments,

Once I have sworn by my holiness, 'I will surely not lie to David,

[When] the sun rises, they gather together and lie down in their dens.

Many times he delivered them, but they rebelled in their counsel, and were brought low by their iniquity.

Yahweh watches over [the] simple. I was brought low, but he gave me victory.

[The] arrogant utterly deride me; I have not turned aside from your law.

[The] cords of [the] wicked surround me, [but] I do not forget your law.

Their heart [is] insensitive like fat; As for me, I take delight in your law.

The law of your mouth [is] better to me than thousands of gold and silver [coins].

Let your mercies come [to] me, that I may live, for your law [is] my delight.

[The] arrogant have dug pits for me, which [is] not according to your law.

Unless your law [had been] my delight, then I would have perished in my misery.

For me [the] wicked [lie in] wait to destroy me. I give attention to your testimonies.

My life [is] {in danger} continually, yet I do not forget your law.

Streams of water flow down [from] my eyes, because [people] do not heed your law.

[Those who] pursue a [wicked] purpose draw near; they are far from your law.

See my misery and rescue me, for I do not forget your law.

I long for your salvation, O Yahweh, and your law [is] my delight.

Remember, O Yahweh, against the sons of Edom the day of Jerusalem, the ones who said, "Lay [it] bare! Lay [it] bare to its foundation!"

But my eyes [are] toward you, O Yahweh, my Lord; I have taken refuge in you. Do not lay bare my soul.

Attend to my cry, for I am brought very low. Deliver me from my pursuers, for they are stronger than I.
