And he says to them, Is it lawful in the sabbaths to do good, or to do evil? to save a soul, or to kill? And they were silent.

For what shall it profit a man, if he gain the whole world, and injure his soul

Or what shall a man give for the exchange of his soul?

And Jesus having looked upon him, loved him, and said to him, One thing is wanting to thee retire; whatever thou hast, sell, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven; and come, follow me, having taken up the cross.

For also the Son of man came not to be served, but to serve, and to give his soul a ransom for many.

And thou shalt love the Lord thy God from thy whole heart, and from thy whole soul, and from thy whole mind, and from thy whole strength: this the first command.

And to love him from the whole heart, and from the whole understanding, and from the whole soul, and from the whole strength, and to love the neighbor as himself, is more than all the whole burnt offerrings, and the sacrifices.

And he says to them, My soul is sorely grieved, even to death: remain here, and watch.
