Paul, an Apostle of Christ Jesus by the will of God our Saviour and Christ Jesus our hope:

I am the worst of them. But for that very reason I received mercy, so that in me, as the worst sinner, the Messiah Jesus might demonstrate all of his patience as an example for those who would believe in him for eternal life.

who gave himself a ransom for all, of which the testimony has been given in its proper times,

Be attentive to these things [i.e., all of the foregoing]; be involved in [practicing] them, so that your progress [in the ministry] will be evident to everyone.

By professing it, some people have deviated from the faith.
