Then the scribes and Pharisees who were from Jerusalem came to Jesus and said,

Then the disciples came and said to him, "Do you know that the Pharisees were offended when they heard this saying?"

And they all ate and were satisfied; and they took up seven baskets full of the broken pieces that were left over.

Now those who ate were four thousand men, besides women and children.

And as they were coming down the mountain, Jesus commanded them, "Tell no one the vision, until the Son of Man is raised from the dead."

Now while they were staying in Galilee, Jesus said to them, "The Son of Man is about to be betrayed into the hands of men,

and they will kill him, and he will be raised on the third day." And they were greatly distressed.

When his fellow servants saw what had taken place, they were greatly distressed, and went and told their master all that had happened.

For there are eunuchs who were born that way from their mother's womb, and there are eunuchs who were made eunuchs by men, and there are eunuchs who have made themselves eunuchs for the sake of the kingdom of heaven. He who is able to accept it, let him accept it."

Then little children were brought to him that he might put his hands on them and pray, but the disciples rebuked them.

When the disciples heard this they were greatly astonished, saying, "Who then can be saved?"

And when those came who were hired about the eleventh hour, they each received a denarius.

But when the chief priests and the scribes saw the wonderful things that he did, and the children crying out in the temple, "Hosanna to the Son of David!" they were indignant;

and sent out his servants to call those who were invited to the wedding; but they were not willing to come.

Then he said to his servants, 'The wedding is ready, but those who were invited were not worthy.

And when the multitudes heard this, they were astonished at his teaching.

For as in the days before the flood, they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark,

So when the centurion and those with him, who were guarding Jesus, saw the earthquake and the things that had happened, they were terrified, and said, "Truly this was the Son of God!"

And many women were also there, looking on from afar, who had followed Jesus from Galilee, ministering to him;

among whom were Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James and Joses, and the mother of Zebedee's sons.

Mary Magdalene and the other Mary were sitting there opposite the tomb.

Now while they were going, behold, some of the guard went into the city and reported to the chief priests all the things that had happened.

and said, "Tell them, 'His disciples came by night and stole him away while we were asleep.'

So they took the money and did as they were instructed; and this story has been spread among the Jews to this day.
