Jesus said to them, "I will ask you one question. Answer me and I will tell you by what authority I do these things:

So they answered Jesus, "We don't know." Then Jesus said to them, "Neither will I tell you by what authority I am doing these things."

For they all gave out of their wealth. But she, out of her poverty, put in what she had to live on, everything she had."

"Tell us, when will these things happen? And what will be the sign that all these things are about to take place?"

When he came again he found them sleeping; they could not keep their eyes open. And they did not know what to tell him.

So Pilate spoke to them again, "Then what do you want me to do with the one you call king of the Jews?"

Pilate asked them, "Why? What has he done wrong?" But they shouted more insistently, "Crucify him!"

Then they crucified him and divided his clothes, throwing dice for them, to decide what each would take.
