don't be led into any mistake, because the previous rebellion does not yet appear, nor the man of sin throw off the disguise, that offspring of perdition:

For the mystery of iniquity does already work: only he who now restrains will do so, until he be taken out of the way.

For the rest, my brothers, let there be prayer for us that the word of the Lord may go forward with increasing glory, even as it does with you;

and in order that we may be delivered from the ungodly and wicked men; for faith does not belong to all.

And may the Lord direct your hearts to love [people] as God does, and to be steadfast as Christ was.

For also when we were with you we enjoined you this, that if any man does not like to work, neither let him eat.

But if anyone does not obey our message through this letter, take note not to associate with him, in order that he may be put to shame.
