When that sound came, a crowd quickly gathered, startled because each one heard the disciples speaking in his own language.

As soon as he had seen the vision, we immediately looked for a way to go to Macedonia, because we were convinced that God had called us to tell the people there the good news.

But Paul shouted in a loud voice, "Don't hurt yourself, because we are all here!"

But Paul went down, bent over him, took him into his arms, and said, "Stop being alarmed, because he's still alive."

When Paul got to the steps, he had to be carried by the soldiers because the mob had become so violent.

"The Lord told me, "Get up and go into Damascus, and there you will be told everything you are destined to do.' Since I could not see because of the brightness of the light, the men who were with me took me by the hand and led me into Damascus.

The next day, because we were being tossed so violently by the storm, they began to throw the cargo overboard.

But now I urge you to have courage, because there will be no loss of life among you, but only loss of the ship.

So take courage, men, because I trust God that it will turn out just as he told me.

They examined me and wanted to let me go because there was no reason for me to receive the death penalty in my case.
