Weep not for the dead, neither bemoan him: but weep bitterly for him that goes away: for he shall return no more, nor see his native country.

Thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Take these deeds, this deed of purchase, which is sealed, and this deed which is open; and put them in an earthen vessel, that they may last many days.

Now when I had delivered the deed of purchase unto Baruch the son of Neriah, I prayed unto the LORD, saying,

And have given them this land, which you did swear to their fathers to give them, a land flowing with milk and honey;

They come to fight with the Chaldeans, but it is to fill them with the dead bodies of men, whom I have slain in my anger and in my fury, all for whose wickedness I have hid my face from this city.

They did cry there, Pharaoh king of Egypt is but a noise; he has passed the time appointed.

Also her hired soldiers are in the midst of her like fatted calves; for they also are turned back, and have fled away together: they did not stand, because the day of their calamity had come upon them, and the time of their punishment.

And he did that which was evil in the eyes of the LORD, according to all that Jehoiakim had done.

And concerning the pillars, the height of one pillar was eighteen cubits; and bands of twelve cubits did compass it; and the thickness thereof was four fingers: it was hollow.

And changed his prison garments: and he did continually eat bread before him all the days of his life.
