For our appeal does not come from delusion or impure motives, nor [is it motivated] by deceit [our message is complete, accurate, and based on the truth—it does not change].

As you know, we exhorted, comforted, and implored every one of you, as a father does his own children,

And for this further reason we render unceasing thanks to God, that when you received God's Message from our lips, it was as no mere message from men that you embraced it, but as--what it really is--God's Message, which also does its work in the hearts of you who believe.

And may the Lord cause your love for one another, and for everyone, to increase and overflow, just as ours does for you also.

For God's Call to us does not permit of an impure life, but demands purity.

Therefore, the person who rejects this does not reject man, but God, who also gives you His Holy Spirit.

Make sure that no one does anything wrong to someone who wrongs him, but always look for something good you can do for one another and for everyone.
