For to what angel did God ever say, "You are my Son, today I have become your Father"?

Or again, "I will become His Father, and He shall become my Son"? But when He brings again His first-born Son into the world, He says, "And let all the angels worship Him."

However, regarding the angels He says: "He turns His angels into winds, and His attendants into flames of fire."

But regarding the Son He says: "Your throne, O God, will stand forever and ever; a righteous scepter is the scepter of His kingdom.

But to what angel did He ever say: "Just keep your seat at my right hand, until I make your foes a footstool for your feet"?

when He says: "I will announce your name to my brothers; in the midst of the congregation I will sing your praise";

Therefore, as the Holy Spirit says: "If you but hear His voice today,

while in this passage again He says: "They shall not be admitted to my rest."

as also in another passage He says: "You are a priest forever, belonging to the rank of Melchizedek."

I have much to say to you about Him, but it is difficult to make it clear to you, since you have become so dull in your spiritual senses.

and then have fallen by the wayside -- it is impossible, I say, to keep on restoring them to their first repentance, since they continue to crucify the Son of God to their detriment and hold Him up to contempt.

So we can confidently say: "The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can men do to me?"
