and it came to pass, as he sowed, that some seed fell by the wayside, and the birds came and ate it up.

Other seed fell on stony ground, where it had not much earth: and it immediately sprung up, because it had no depth of earth.

And other seed fell among thorns, and the thorns grew up and choked it, and it produced no fruit.

And other seed fell in the good ground, and produced fruit that grew up and increased, and produced, one thirty, one sixty, and one a hundred.

And he said: He that has ears to hear, let him hear.

And he said to them: To you it is given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God; but to those who are without, all things are done in parables;

And he said to them: Do you not understand this parable? And how then will you understand all parables?

These are they that received seed by the wayside, where the word is sown; and when they hear, Satan immediately comes and takes away the word that was sown in their hearts.

And he said to them: Is a lamp brought in that it may be put under the measure, or under the divan? Is it not brought that it may be put on the lamp-stand?

And he said to them: Take heed how you hear; with what measure you measure, it shall be measured to you; and to you that hear, more shall be given;

And he said: So is the kingdom of God, as if a man should sow seed in the ground,

And he said: To what shall we liken the kingdom of God? Or, by what similitude shall we illustrate it?

And on the same day, when it was evening, he said to them: Let us go over to the opposite side.

And he said to them: Why are you so fearful? How is it that you have no faith?

And they were greatly afraid, and said one to another: Who, then, is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him?

And they came to the opposite side of the sea, into the country of the Gadarenes.

He said to them: How many loaves have you? Go and see. And when they had learned, they said: Five, and two fishes.

And he immediately compelled his disciples to get into the ship, and to go before him to the opposite side, to Bethsaida, while he sent the multitude away.

for they all saw him, and were troubled. And he immediately spoke to them, and said: Take courage; it is I; be not afraid.

He answered and said to them: "Well did Isaiah prophesy of you hypocrites, as it is written, This people honors me with their lips, but their heart is far from me.

And he said to them: Well do you reject the commandment of God, that you may keep your own tradition.

And he called the whole multitude to him, and said to them: Hear me, all of you, and understand.

And he said to them: Are you also so void of understanding? Do you not perceive that nothing from without, by entering into a man, can defile him?

And he said: What comes out of the man, is that which defiles the man.

But Jesus said to her: Let the children be satisfied first; for it is not good to take the children's bread and throw it to the little dogs.

She answered and said to him: Yes, Lord; and yd you can help me, for the little dogs under the table eat of the children's crumbs.

And he said to her: For this saying, go your way: the demon has gone out of your daughter.

and looking up to heaven, he sighed, and said to him: Ephphatha, which means, Be opened.

And they were amazed beyond measure, and said: He Las done all things well: he makes the deaf hear and the dumb speak.

In those days, the multitude being very great, and having nothing to eat, Jesus called his disciples to him and said to them:

And he asked them: How many loaves have you? And they said: Seven.

And he commanded the multitude to recline on the ground. And he took the seven loaves, and gave thanks, and broke them, and gave them to the disciples to set before them: and they set them before the multitude.

And they had a few small fishes; and he blessed, and commanded that they also be set before them.

And he sighed deeply in his spirit, and said: Why does this generation seek for a sign? Verily I say to you, No sign will be given to this generation.

And he left them, and entered the ship again, and departed to the opposite side.

When I broke the five loaves among the five thousand, how many baskets full of broken pieces did you take up? They said to him: Twelve.

And he said to them: How is it that you do not understand?

And he looked up and said: I see men, like trees, walking.

And he sent him away to his house, and said: Neither go into the village, nor tell it to any one in the village.
