They would like to be teachers of law although they do not understand the words they use or the matters they insist upon.

In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with broided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array;

managing his own house well, and keeping his children under control and perfectly respectful??5 for if a man does not know how to conduct his own household, how can he look after a church of God?

Deacons in like manner must be grave, not double-tongued, not given to much wine, not greedy of filthy lucre;

Women in like manner must be grave, not slanderers, temperate, faithful in all things.

Let no one look down on your youth, but be an example for the believers in word, in conduct, in love, in faith, in purity.

For the Scripture says [Deut. 25:4], "You should not put a muzzle on the ox while it tramples over the grain." And [Luke 10:7], "The worker deserves his wages."

The sins of some men are evident to the world, leading the way to your estimate of their characters, but the sins of others lag behind.

In like manner also there are good works that are evident; and such as are otherwise cannot be hid.

And those who have believing masters must not look down on [them] because they are brothers, but rather they must serve, because those who benefit by their service are believers and dearly loved.
