They were perfectly astounded, and in bewilderment they continued to say, "Are not all these men who are speaking Galileans?

And thus they all continued to be astounded and bewildered, and continued to say to each other, "What can this mean?"

'It will occur in the last days, says God, that I will pour out my Spirit upon all mankind. Your sons and daughters will prophesy. Your young men will have visions. Your old men will have dreams.

"Fellow Israelites, listen to what I say. Jesus of Nazareth, as you yourselves well know, a man accredited to you by God through mighty deeds and wonders and wonder-works which God performed through Him right here among you,

this very Jesus, I say, after He was betrayed, in accordance with the predetermined plan and foreknowledge of God, you had wicked men kill by nailing Him to a cross;

For David says of Him: 'I always kept my eyes upon the Lord, for He is at my right hand, so that I may not be removed.

"Brothers, I may confidently say to you about the patriarch David, that he died and was buried, and that his grave is here among us to this very day.

For David did not go up to heaven, but he himself says: 'The Lord said to my Lord, "Sit at my right hand,

and since they saw the man who had been cured standing with them, they had nothing to say in reply.

But to keep it from spreading farther among the people, let us severely threaten them not to say anything at all to anyone else about this person."

So they instigated men to say, "We have heard him speaking abusive words against Moses and God."

for we have heard him say that Jesus of Nazareth will tear this place down, and change the customs which Moses handed down to us."

But the Most High does not live in buildings built by human hands. As the prophet says:

'"Heaven is my throne, and earth a footstool for my feet. What house can you build for me?" says the Lord; "Or what place is there in which I can rest?

One afternoon about three o'clock he had a vision and clearly saw an angel of God come to him and say, "Cornelius!"

So at once I sent for you, and you have been kind enough to come. So now we are all here in God's presence to listen to anything that the Lord has commanded you to say."

And I heard a voice say to me, 'Get up, Peter, kill something and eat it!'

Then he told us how he had seen the angel stand in his house and say to him, 'Send to Joppa and invite Simon, who is called Peter, to come over;

that God has fulfilled it to us their children, by raising Jesus to life, just as the Scripture says in the Second Psalm, 'You are my Son, today I have become your Father.'

Because in another psalm he says, 'You will not let your Holy One experience decay.'

So that the rest of mankind may earnestly seek the Lord, Yes, all the heathen who are called by my name, says the Lord,

When she and her household were baptized, she begged us by continuing to say, "If you have made up your mind that I am a real believer in the Lord, come and stay at my house." And she continued to insist that we do so.

Some of the Epicurean and the Stoic philosophers began to debate with him; and some said, "What is this scraps-of-truth-picker trying to say?" Others said, "He seems to be a preacher of foreign deities." They said so because he was telling the good news of Jesus and the resurrection.

He came to see us and took Paul's belt and with it bound his own hands and feet, and said, "This is what the Holy Spirit says, 'The Jews at Jerusalem will bind the man who owns this belt like this, and then will turn him over to the heathen.'"

As he was about to be taken into the barracks, Paul said to the colonel, "May I say something to you?" The colonel asked, "Do you know Greek?

"Brothers and fathers, listen now to what I have to say in my defense."

Paul answered, "I did not know, brothers, that he was high priest, for the Scripture says, 'You must not speak evil against any ruler of your people.'"

We all fell to the ground, and I heard a voice say to me in Hebrew, 'Saul! Saul! Why do you continue to persecute me? It is hurting you to keep on kicking against the goad.'

'Go to this people and say to them, "You will listen, and listen, and never understand, and you will look, and look, and never see!
