The vision of Obadiah. Thus said the Lord Jehovah to Edom: We heard a report from Jehovah, a messenger was sent among the nations; arise ye, and we will rise up against her for war.

If thou shalt exalt as the eagle, and set thy nest between the stars, from thence will I bring thee down, says Jehovah.

Was it not in that day, says Jehovah, and I destroyed the wise out of Edom, and understanding from mount Esau?

For the day of Jehovah is near upon all the nations: as thou didst, it shall be done to thee: thy recompense shall turn back upon thy head.

And the house of Jacob was a fire, and the house of Joseph for a flame, and the house of Esau for straw; and they burned in them, and they devoured them; and a survivor shall not be to the house of Esau, for Jehovah spake.

And survivors came up into mount Zion to judge the mount Esau; and the kingdom was to Jehovah.
