From Paul, a servant of God, and an Apostle of Jesus Christ, charged to strengthen the faith of God's Chosen People, and their knowledge of that Truth which makes for godliness, .

Because an overseer is God's servant manager, he must be blameless. He must not be arrogant or irritable. He must not drink too much, be a violent person, or make money in shameful ways.

They must be silenced, because they are the kind of people who ruin whole families by teaching what they should not teach in order to make money in a shameful way.

and that statement is true. Therefore correct them rigorously, to make them have a healthy faith,

so as to make them sound in the faith, not giving heed to Jewish myths and commandments of men who turn away from the truth.

they make a profession of knowing God; but in fact they deny him, being execrably incredulous, and utter strangers to all virtue.

that they may make the young women sober-minded, to be lovers of their husbands, lovers of their children,

and above all make your own life a pattern of right conduct, having in your teaching no taint of insincerity, but a serious tone,

bondmen to be subject to their own masters, to make themselves acceptable in everything; not gainsaying;

or steal from them. Instead, they are to show complete and perfect loyalty, so that in every way they may make the teaching about God our Savior more attractive.

Who gave himself for us, so that he might make us free from all wrongdoing, and make for himself a people clean in heart and on fire with good works.

Thus speak, exhort, reprove, with all impressiveness. Let no one make light of your authority.

Make clear to them that they are to put themselves under rulers and authorities, to do what they are ordered, to be ready for every good work,

In grace our Savior God appeared, to make his love for mankind clear.

This is a trustworthy teaching, and I want you to insist on these things, so that those who believe in God may make it their business to do good. All this is right and beneficial to mankind.

When I send Artemas or [perhaps] Tychicus to you, make every effort to come to me at Nicopolis, for I have decided to spend the winter there.

Make every effort to help Zenas the lawyer and Apollos on their way; make sure they have what they need.

Our own people should also learn to make good deeds a priority when urgent needs arise, so they won't be unproductive.
