Listen! Fugitives and refugees are coming from the land of Babylon. They are coming to Zion to declare there how the Lord our God is getting revenge, getting revenge for what they have done to his temple.
Some who survive in battle will return to the land of Judah from the land of Egypt. But they will be very few indeed! Then the Judean remnant who have come to live in the land of Egypt will know whose word proves true, mine or theirs.'
None of the Judean remnant who have come to live in the land of Egypt will escape or survive to return to the land of Judah. Though they long to return and live there, none of them shall return except a few fugitives.'"
So all these Judeans returned to the land of Judah from the places where they had been scattered. They came to Gedaliah at Mizpah. Thus they harvested a large amount of wine and dates and figs.
You loyal followers of the Lord, trust in the Lord! He is their deliverer and protector.
For even if you were to defeat all the Babylonian forces fighting against you so badly that only wounded men were left lying in their tents, they would get up and burn this city down."'"
Do not listen to the prophets who are telling you that you do not need to serve the king of Babylon. For they are prophesying lies to you.
O Lord, make the sky sink and come down! Touch the mountains and make them smolder!
May your priests be clothed with integrity! May your loyal followers shout for joy!
For a short time your special nation possessed a land, but then our adversaries knocked down your holy sanctuary.
When the wicked gain control, people hide themselves, but when they perish, the righteous increase.

That is what will result from your making me angry by what you are doing. You are making me angry by sacrificing to other gods here in the land of Egypt where you live. You will be destroyed for doing that! You will become an example used in curses and an object of ridicule among all the nations of the earth.
Perhaps then they will ask the Lord for mercy and will all stop doing the evil things they have been doing. For the Lord has threatened to bring great anger and wrath against these people."
You make it dark and night comes, during which all the beasts of the forest prowl around.
"So now the Lord, the God who rules over all, the God of Israel, asks, 'Why will you do such great harm to yourselves? Why should every man, woman, child, and baby of yours be destroyed from the midst of Judah? Why should you leave yourselves without a remnant?
Certainly you have heard how the kings of Assyria have annihilated all lands. Do you really think you will be rescued?
Why should the nations say, "Where is their God?" Before our very eyes may the shed blood of your servants be avenged among the nations!
He made storerooms for the harvest of grain, wine, and olive oil, and stalls for all his various kinds of livestock and his flocks.
Then I will sing praises to your name continually, as I fulfill my vows day after day.
Enemies seek to destroy my life, but they will descend into the depths of the earth.
He will rescue me and protect me from those who attack me, even though they greatly outnumber me.
Then I will give you thanks in the great assembly; I will praise you before a large crowd of people!

Don't worry about your belongings, for the best of all the land of Egypt will be yours.'"

The nations will respect the reputation of the Lord, and all the kings of the earth will respect his splendor,
He remains loyal and faithful to the family of Israel. All the ends of the earth see our God deliver us.
For observing the festival is a requirement for Israel; it is an ordinance given by the God of Jacob.

I will put an end in Moab to those who make offerings at her places of worship. I will put an end to those who sacrifice to other gods. I, the Lord, affirm it!
I will hand them over to Nebuchadnezzar and his troops, who want to kill them. But later on, people will live in Egypt again as they did in former times. I, the Lord, affirm it!"
They will proclaim the splendor of your kingdom; they will tell about your power,

The Lord spoke further to Jeremiah.
Hezekiah said, "What is the confirming sign that I will go up to the Lord's temple?"

For did not you people of Moab laugh at the people of Israel? Did you think that they were nothing but thieves, that you shook your head in contempt every time you talked about them?
You have sacrificed to other gods! You have sinned against the Lord! You have not obeyed the Lord! You have not followed his laws, his statutes, and his decrees! That is why this disaster that is evident to this day has happened to you."
If you people who remain in Judah do that, then listen to what the Lord says. The Lord God of Israel who rules over all says, 'If you are so determined to go to Egypt that you go and settle there,
(Now Jeremiah had not yet been put in prison. So he was still free to come and go among the people as he pleased.
As when one plows and breaks up the soil, so our bones are scattered at the mouth of Sheol.
O Lord, shelter me from the power of the wicked! Protect me from violent men, who plan to knock me over.
May they be like the grass on the rooftops which withers before one can even pull it up,
Certainly the godly will give thanks to your name; the morally upright will live in your presence.

The meadows are clothed with sheep, and the valleys are covered with grain. They shout joyfully, yes, they sing.
Opposite the gate on the north and the east was a gate of the inner court; he measured the distance from gate to gate at 175 feet.

So, now the Lord says, 'You have not listened to me. But you have made me angry by the things that you have done. Thus you have brought harm on yourselves.'
He plans ways to sin while he lies in bed; he is committed to a sinful lifestyle; he does not reject what is evil.
The children of your servants will settle down here, and their descendants will live securely in your presence."
May those who are trying to snatch away my life be totally embarrassed and ashamed! May those who want to harm me be turned back and ashamed!
You must purify each garment and everything that is made of skin, everything made of goat's hair, and everything made of wood."
The Lord deserves praise for he demonstrated his amazing faithfulness to me when I was besieged by enemies.

This is the land which you will allot to the tribes of Israel, and these are their portions, declares the sovereign Lord.

The population of Egypt is like a vast, impenetrable forest. But I, the Lord, affirm that the enemy will cut them down. For those who chop them down will be more numerous than locusts. They will be too numerous to count.
On the outside of the porch as one goes up at the entrance of the north gate were two tables, and on the other side of the porch of the gate were two tables.
