Now concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our gathering together to him, we beg you, brethren,

And you know what restrains him now, so that in his time he may be revealed.

For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work; only he who now restrains will do so until he is taken out of the way.

Now may our Lord Jesus Christ himself and God our Father, who loved us and gave us eternal comfort and good hope by grace,

Now we command you, brethren, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you keep away from every brother who is living in idleness and not according to the tradition which you received from us.

Now such persons we command and exhort in the Lord Jesus Christ to work in quiet fashion and earn their own bread to eat.

Now may the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times in every way. The Lord be with you all.
