to Timothy my true son in the faith; grace, mercy, and peace from God our Father and Christ Jesus our Lord.

This charge I commit to you, son Timothy, according to the prophecies which went before concerning you, that by them you may perform an honorable service,

And confessedly great is the mystery of piety; [Christ,] who was manifested in the flesh, was justified in the spirit, was seen by angels, was preached to the nations, was believed on in the world, was received up into glory.

Those that sin, rebuke before all, that others also may fear.

who only has immortality, dwelling in light unapproachable, whom no man has seen nor can see; to whom be honor and power eternal; amen.
