You must care for it until the fourteenth day of this month, and then the whole community of Israel will kill it around sundown.

The Lord said to Moses, "Tell Aaron, 'Extend your staff and strike the dust of the ground, and it will become gnats throughout all the land of Egypt.'"
I am not writing these things to shame you, but to correct you as my dear children.

What if there are fifty godly people in the city? Will you really wipe it out and not spare the place for the sake of the fifty godly people who are in it?

If the king is so inclined, let an edict be issued to destroy them. I will pay ten thousand talents of silver to be conveyed to the king's treasuries for the officials who carry out this business."
So bathe yourself, rub on some perfumed oil, and get dressed up. Then go down to the threshing floor. But don't let the man know you're there until he finishes his meal.

Then he said to her, "Because you said this, you may go. The demon has left your daughter."
And Moses said to the Lord, "Why have you afflicted your servant? Why have I not found favor in your sight, that you lay the burden of this entire people on me?
You are to make the poles of acacia wood and overlay them with gold, so that the table may be carried with them.

They will go into caves in the rocky cliffs and into holes in the ground, trying to escape the dreadful judgment of the Lord and his royal splendor, when he rises up to terrify the earth.

I heard, but I did not understand. So I said, "Sir, what will happen after these things?"

But Pharaoh said, "Who is the Lord that I should obey him by releasing Israel? I do not know the Lord, and I will not release Israel!"

But they do not know what the Lord is planning; they do not understand his strategy. He has gathered them like stalks of grain to be threshed at the threshing floor.

In the fiftieth year of King Azariah's reign over Judah, Menahem's son Pekahiah became king over Israel. He reigned in Samaria for two years.
Then Samuel brought all the tribes of Israel near, and the tribe of Benjamin was chosen by lot.
So they went up to the town. As they were heading for the middle of the town, Samuel was coming in their direction to go up to the high place.
In the morning you must approach in tribal order. The tribe the Lord selects must approach by clans. The clan the Lord selects must approach by families. The family the Lord selects must approach man by man.
Who ever serves in the army at his own expense? Who plants a vineyard and does not eat its fruit? Who tends a flock and does not consume its milk?
He had one left, his one dear son. Finally he sent him to them, saying, 'They will respect my son.'
They did as ordered; they brought the five kings out of the cave to him -- the kings of Jerusalem, Hebron, Jarmuth, Lachish, and Eglon.

Then the tabernacle was dismantled, and the sons of Gershon and the sons of Merari set out, carrying the tabernacle.

Why does the wicked man reject God? He says to himself, "You will not hold me accountable."
Then Jeshua the son of Jozadak and his priestly colleagues and Zerubbabel son of Shealtiel and his colleagues started to build the altar of the God of Israel so they could offer burnt offerings on it as required by the law of Moses the man of God.
This is why the Jews who are in the rural country -- those who live in rural cities -- set aside the fourteenth day of the month of Adar as a holiday for happiness, banqueting, holiday, and sending gifts to one another.
The inside of the temple was all cedar and was adorned with carvings of round ornaments and of flowers in bloom. Everything was cedar; no stones were visible.
These were the sons of David who were born to him in Hebron: The firstborn was Amnon, whose mother was Ahinoam from Jezreel; the second was Daniel, whose mother was Abigail from Carmel;

Now the Midianites, Amalekites, and the people from the east covered the valley like a swarm of locusts. Their camels could not be counted; they were as innumerable as the sand on the seashore.
He did evil in the sight of the Lord; he did not repudiate the sinful ways of Jeroboam son of Nebat who encouraged Israel to sin. During his reign,
"'By these you defile yourselves; anyone who touches their carcass will be unclean until the evening,
But the Israelites said to the Lord, "We have sinned. You do to us as you see fit, but deliver us today!"
Joshua also set up twelve stones in the middle of the Jordan in the very place where the priests carrying the ark of the covenant stood. They remain there to this very day.
Ish-bosheth was unable to answer Abner with even a single word because he was afraid of him.
So they got up and crossed over by number: twelve belonging to Benjamin and to Ish-bosheth son of Saul, and twelve from the servants of David.
However, by no means eat the blood, for the blood is life itself -- you must not eat the life with the meat!

The field is the world and the good seed are the people of the kingdom. The weeds are the people of the evil one,
so that your days and those of your descendants may be extended in the land which the Lord promised to give to your ancestors, like the days of heaven itself.
The woman became pregnant and gave birth to a son. When she saw that he was a healthy child, she hid him for three months.
These things may be treated as an allegory, for these women represent two covenants. One is from Mount Sinai bearing children for slavery; this is Hagar.
But so that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins" -- then he said to the paralytic -- "Stand up, take your stretcher, and go home."
Then the Lord said to Moses, "Now you will see what I will do to Pharaoh, for compelled by my strong hand he will release them, and by my strong hand he will drive them out of his land."
I wish I could be with you now and change my tone of voice, because I am perplexed about you.
Everyone ate and was satisfied, and they picked up the broken pieces left over, seven baskets full.
Some people said, "This is the man!" while others said, "No, but he looks like him." The man himself kept insisting, "I am the one!"
he reveals deep and hidden things. He knows what is in the darkness, and light resides with him.
But you will become drunk with shame, not majesty. Now it is your turn to drink and expose your uncircumcised foreskin! The cup of wine in the Lord's right hand is coming to you, and disgrace will replace your majestic glory!
Disaster will be inescapable, as if a man ran from a lion only to meet a bear, then escaped into a house, leaned his hand against the wall, and was bitten by a poisonous snake.
So he got up and took the child and his mother and returned to the land of Israel.
until the Ancient of Days arrived and judgment was rendered in favor of the holy ones of the Most High. Then the time came for the holy ones to take possession of the kingdom.
None of the sins he has committed will be held against him; because of the righteousness he has done, he will live.
But you have been thrown out of your grave like a shoot that is thrown away. You lie among the slain, among those who have been slashed by the sword, among those headed for the stones of the pit, as if you were a mangled corpse.
Stop trusting in human beings, whose life's breath is in their nostrils. For why should they be given special consideration?
Now I will tell you the truth."Three more kings will arise for Persia. Then a fourth king will be unusually rich, more so than all who preceded him. When he has amassed power through his riches, he will stir up everyone against the kingdom of Greece.
with kings and counselors of the earth who built for themselves places now desolate,
He prayed: "O Lord, God of Israel, there is no god like you in heaven above or on earth below! You maintain covenantal loyalty to your servants who obey you with sincerity.
"Israel is not a slave, is he? He was not born into slavery, was he? If not, why then is he being carried off?
The Lord who commands armies will be exalted when he punishes, the sovereign God's authority will be recognized when he judges.
Now he was acting as the guardian of Hadassah (that is, Esther), the daughter of his uncle, for neither her father nor her mother was alive. This young woman was very attractive and had a beautiful figure. When her father and mother died, Mordecai had raised her as if she were his own daughter.
Joiada son of Paseah and Meshullam son of Besodeiah worked on the Jeshanah Gate. They laid its beams and positioned its doors, its bolts, and its bars.
So your servant said, 'May the word of my lord the king be my security, for my lord the king is like the angel of God when it comes to deciding between right and wrong! May the Lord your God be with you!'"
The elders of the Jews continued building and prospering, while at the same time Haggai the prophet and Zechariah the son of Iddo continued prophesying. They built and brought it to completion by the command of the God of Israel and by the command of Cyrus and Darius and Artaxerxes king of Persia.
May God who makes his name to reside there overthrow any king or nation who reaches out to cause such change so as to destroy this temple of God in Jerusalem. I, Darius, have given orders. Let them be carried out with precision!"
After they have been destroyed from your presence, be careful not to be ensnared like they are; do not pursue their gods and say, "How do these nations serve their gods? I will do the same."
The village women said to Naomi, "May the Lord be praised because he has not left you without a guardian today! May he become famous in Israel!
So Moses thought, "I will turn aside to see this amazing sight. Why does the bush not burn up?"
And the sound of the harpists, musicians, flute players, and trumpeters will never be heard in you again. No craftsman who practices any trade will ever be found in you again; the noise of a mill will never be heard in you again.
For if you carefully observe all of these commandments I am giving you and love the Lord your God, live according to his standards, and remain loyal to him,
all the cities of the plateau, all of Gilead and Bashan as far as Salecah and Edrei, cities of the kingdom of Og in Bashan.
And the Lord spoke to Moses and Aaron in Mount Hor, by the border of the land of Edom. He said:
Therefore we are sending Judas and Silas who will tell you these things themselves in person.
And the standard of the camp of the Ephraimites set out according to their companies; over his company was Elishama son of Ammihud.
But for this purpose I have caused you to stand: to show you my strength, and so that my name may be declared in all the earth.
He replied, "You must take these seven ewe lambs from my hand as legal proof that I dug this well."
See here! Its blood was not brought into the holy place within! You should certainly have eaten it in the sanctuary just as I commanded!"
because I know your eagerness to help. I keep boasting to the Macedonians about this eagerness of yours, that Achaia has been ready to give since last year, and your zeal to participate has stirred up most of them.
Whenever they hand you over for trial, do not worry about how to speak or what to say, for what you should say will be given to you at that time.
Some of the crowd concluded it was about Alexander because the Jews had pushed him to the front. Alexander, gesturing with his hand, was wanting to make a defense before the public assembly.
I listened and my stomach churned; the sound made my lips quiver. My frame went limp, as if my bones were decaying, and I shook as I tried to walk. I long for the day of distress to come upon the people who attack us.
Then they brought it to Jesus, threw their cloaks on the colt, and had Jesus get on it.
"That is because, from the least important to the most important of them, all of them are greedy for dishonest gain. Prophets and priests alike, all of them practice deceit.
and say 'This is what the sovereign Lord says: Woe to those who sew bands on all their wrists and make headbands for heads of every size to entrap people's lives! Will you entrap my people's lives, yet preserve your own lives?
He then said, "This woman represents wickedness," and he pushed her down into the basket and placed the lead cover on top.
And with all your abominable practices and prostitution you did not remember the days of your youth when you were naked and bare, kicking around in your blood.
But those three men, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, fell into the furnace of blazing fire while still securely bound.
"'You took your sons and your daughters whom you bore to me and you sacrificed them as food for the idols to eat. As if your prostitution not enough,
You wrongly evict widows among my people from their cherished homes. You defraud their children of their prized inheritance.
Look up, you gates! Rise up, you eternal doors! Then the majestic king will enter!
for all the tall mountains, for all the high hills,
For the years that lie ahead are few, and then I will go on the way of no return.
The king then said to Haman, "Go quickly! Take the clothing and the horse, just as you have described, and do as you just indicated to Mordecai the Jew who sits at the king's gate. Don't neglect a single thing of all that you have said."
Isn't this the way your ancestors acted, causing our God to bring on them and on this city all this misfortune? And now you are causing even more wrath on Israel, profaning the Sabbath like this!"
"Tell the Israelites, 'When a woman produces offspring and bears a male child, she will be unclean seven days, as she is unclean during the days of her menstruation.
Then they said to one another, "Come, let's make bricks and bake them thoroughly." (They had brick instead of stone and tar instead of mortar.)
You must serve me as your father David did. Do everything I commanded and obey my rules and regulations.
Here are my virgin daughter and my guest's concubine. I will send them out and you can abuse them and do to them whatever you like. But don't do such a disgraceful thing to this man!"
Asa took all the silver and gold that was left in the treasuries of the Lord's temple and of the royal palace and handed it to his servants. He then told them to deliver it to Ben Hadad son of Tabrimmon, the son of Hezion, king of Syria, ruler in Damascus, along with this message:
Judah did evil in the sight of the Lord. They made him more jealous by their sins than their ancestors had done.
Manoah said to his wife, "We will certainly die, because we have seen a supernatural being!"
This happened because of the sins he committed. He did evil in the sight of the Lord and followed in Jeroboam's footsteps and encouraged Israel to continue sinning.
When a leader died, the next generation would again act more wickedly than the previous one. They would follow after other gods, worshiping them and bowing down to them. They did not give up their practices or their stubborn ways.
When Jeroboam son of Nebat heard the news, he was still in Egypt, where he had fled from King Solomon and had been living ever since.
Then the archers shot at your servants from the wall and some of the king's soldiers died. Your servant Uriah the Hittite is also dead."
Barak summoned men from Zebulun and Naphtali to Kedesh. Ten thousand men followed him; Deborah went up with him as well.
And against whom was God provoked for forty years? Was it not those who sinned, whose dead bodies fell in the wilderness?
But Zipporah took a flint knife, cut off the foreskin of her son and touched it to Moses' feet, and said, "Surely you are a bridegroom of blood to me."
He goes to sleep and gets up, night and day, and the seed sprouts and grows, though he does not know how.
