Night and day may you watch over this temple, the place where you promised you would live. May you answer your servant's prayer for this place.

Then I looked and realized a hand was stretched out to me, and in it was a written scroll.
"Oh people of Jerusalem, purify your hearts from evil so that you may yet be delivered. How long will you continue to harbor up wicked schemes within you?
"When they return to it, they will remove from it all its detestable things and all its abominations.
So the Lord is furious with his people; he lifts his hand and strikes them. The mountains shake, and corpses lie like manure in the middle of the streets. Despite all this, his anger does not subside, and his hand is ready to strike again.
Sing to the Lord, for he has done magnificent things, let this be known throughout the earth!
The Lord satisfies the appetite of the righteous, but he thwarts the craving of the wicked.

I invoke heaven and earth as witnesses against you today that you will surely and swiftly be removed from the very land you are about to cross the Jordan to possess. You will not last long there because you will surely be annihilated.
Now these are the kings of the land whom the Israelites defeated and drove from their land on the east side of the Jordan, from the Arnon Valley to Mount Hermon, including all the eastern Arabah:
At sunset Joshua ordered his men to take them down from the trees. They threw them into the cave where they had hidden and piled large stones over the mouth of the cave. (They remain to this very day.)
So do not make the land vomit you out because you defile it just as it has vomited out the nations that were before you.
When you do go across the Jordan River and settle in the land he is granting you as an inheritance and you find relief from all the enemies who surround you, you will live in safety.
"Blessed are you when people hate you, and when they exclude you and insult you and reject you as evil on account of the Son of Man!
and anyone who carries their carcass must wash his clothes and will be unclean until the evening.
Those who will be camping next to them are the tribe of Issachar. The leader of the people of Issachar is Nethanel son of Zuar.
Nobody will be able to resist you; the Lord your God will spread the fear and terror of you over the whole land on which you walk, just as he promised you.

The male goat acted even more arrogantly. But no sooner had the large horn become strong than it was broken, and there arose four conspicuous horns in its place, extending toward the four winds of the sky.

And you will know that your home will be secure, and when you inspect your domains, you will not be missing anything.

They received divine help in fighting them, and the Hagrites and all their allies were handed over to them. They cried out to God during the battle; he responded to their prayers because they trusted in him.

So they ran and brought him from there. When he took his position among the people, he stood head and shoulders above them all.
You should make images of the sores and images of the mice that are destroying the land. You should honor the God of Israel. Perhaps he will release his grip on you, your gods, and your land.
May all your enemies perish like this, O Lord! But may those who love you shine like the rising sun at its brightest!" And the land had rest for forty years.
When Eli heard the outcry, he said, "What is this commotion?" The man quickly came and told Eli.

but only a certain fearful expectation of judgment and a fury of fire that will consume God's enemies.

Because of that, the Lord, the God who rules over all, said to me, "Because these people have spoken like this, I will make the words that I put in your mouth like fire. And I will make this people like wood which the fiery judgments you speak will burn up."
No, a wind too strong for that will come at my bidding. Yes, even now I, myself, am calling down judgment on them.'
All the words of my mouth are righteous; there is nothing in them twisted or crooked.
For the ways of a person are in front of the Lord's eyes, and the Lord weighs all that person's paths.
You are altogether beautiful, my darling! There is no blemish in you!

Then Ezra got up from in front of the temple of God and went to the room of Jehohanan son of Eliashib. While he stayed there, he did not eat food or drink water, for he was in mourning over the infidelity of the exiles.
If he comes by and confines you and convenes a court, then who can prevent him?
Letters were sent by the runners to all the king's provinces stating that they should destroy, kill, and annihilate all the Jews, from youth to elderly, both women and children, on a particular day, namely the thirteenth day of the twelfth month (that is, the month of Adar), and to loot and plunder their possessions.
So I stationed people at the lower places behind the wall in the exposed places. I stationed the people by families, with their swords, spears, and bows.
Solomon had 4,000 stalls for his chariot horses and 12,000 horses. He kept them in assigned cities and in Jerusalem.
He designated 70,000 as common laborers, 80,000 as stonecutters in the hills, and 3,600 as supervisors to make sure the people completed the work.
We inquired of those elders, asking them, 'Who gave you the authority to rebuild this temple and to complete this structure?'

They loaded the ark of God on a new cart and carried it from the house of Abinadab, which was on the hill. Uzzah and Ahio, the sons of Abinadab, were guiding the new cart.
Ahab son of Omri did more evil in the sight of the Lord than all who were before him.
King Rehoboam made bronze shields to replace them and assigned them to the officers of the royal guard who protected the entrance to the royal palace.
Elihoreph and Ahijah, the sons of Shisha, wrote down what happened. Jehoshaphat son of Ahilud was in charge of the records.
But when Absalom pressed him, he sent Amnon and all the king's sons along with him.
The messenger replied, "Israel has fled from the Philistines! The army has suffered a great defeat! Your two sons, Hophni and Phineas, are dead! The ark of God has been captured!"
When Gideon realized that it was the Lord's messenger, he said, "Oh no! Master, Lord! I have seen the Lord's messenger face to face!"
Now Eli was ninety-eight years old and his eyes looked straight ahead; he was unable to see.
"'All the days that he separates himself to the Lord he must not contact a dead body.
I chose your ancestor from all the tribes of Israel to be my priest, to offer sacrifice on my altar, to burn incense, and to bear the ephod before me. I gave to your ancestor's house all the fire offerings made by the Israelites.
Jephthah said to the leaders of Gilead, "But you hated me and made me leave my father's house. Why do you come to me now, when you are in trouble?"
So fire went out from the presence of the Lord and consumed them so that they died before the Lord.
The border of the tribe of Reuben was the Jordan. The land allotted to the tribe of Reuben by its clans included these cities and their towns.
These cities were in the lowlands: Eshtaol, Zorah, Ashnah,
Then the Lord spoke to Moses:
To the Reubenites and Gadites I allocated the territory extending from Gilead as far as Wadi Arnon (the exact middle of the wadi was a boundary) all the way to the Wadi Jabbok, the Ammonite border.
the king of Dor -- near Naphath Dor -- (one), the king of Goyim -- near Gilgal -- (one),
You must have one law for the person who sins unintentionally, both for the native-born among the Israelites and for the resident foreigner who lives among them.

There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth when you see Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and all the prophets in the kingdom of God but you yourselves thrown out.
On the next day we left and came to Caesarea, and entered the house of Philip the evangelist, who was one of the seven, and stayed with him.
Then Jesus entered the temple courts and began to drive out those who were selling things there,
You can present them to the Lord as an offering of first fruit, but they must not go up to the altar for a soothing aroma.
Now this phrase "once more" indicates the removal of what is shaken, that is, of created things, so that what is unshaken may remain.

Peter went out and followed him; he did not realize that what was happening through the angel was real, but thought he was seeing a vision.

Then everyone will see the Son of Man arriving in the clouds with great power and glory.

Which is easier, to say, 'Your sins are forgiven' or to say, 'Stand up and walk'?
The Lord said to Satan, "May the Lord rebuke you, Satan! May the Lord, who has chosen Jerusalem, rebuke you! Isn't this man like a burning stick snatched from the fire?"
Then Jesus left that place and entered their synagogue.
Your destruction is like an incurable wound; your demise is like a fatal injury! All who hear what has happened to you will clap their hands for joy, for no one ever escaped your endless cruelty!
He said, "What do you see, Amos?" I replied, "A basket of summer fruit." Then the Lord said to me, "The end has come for my people Israel! I will no longer overlook their sins.

"A noise is heard on the hilltops. It is the sound of the people of Israel crying and pleading to their gods. Indeed they have followed sinful ways; they have forgotten to be true to the Lord their God.
How awful that day will be! For the day of the Lord is near; it will come as destruction from the Divine Destroyer.
Is there idolatry in Gilead? Certainly its inhabitants will come to nothing! Do they sacrifice bulls in Gilgal? Surely their altars will be like stones heaped up on a plowed field!
Blessings are on the head of the righteous, but the speech of the wicked conceals violence.
Do not carry any loads out of your houses or do any work on the Sabbath day. But observe the Sabbath day as a day set apart to the Lord, as I commanded your ancestors.
He who watches the wind will not sow, and he who observes the clouds will not reap.
The mandrakes send out their fragrance; over our door is every delicacy, both new and old, which I have stored up for you, my lover.
David was wrapped in a linen robe, as were all the Levites carrying the ark, the musicians, and Kenaniah the supervisor of transport and the musicians; David also wore a linen ephod.

So the work on the temple of God in Jerusalem came to a halt. It remained halted until the second year of the reign of King Darius of Persia.
After they had assembled at Mizpah, they drew water and poured it out before the Lord. They fasted on that day, and they confessed there, "We have sinned against the Lord." So Samuel led the people of Israel at Mizpah.
This is the list of David's warriors: Jashobeam, a Hacmonite, was head of the officers. He killed three hundred men with his spear in a single battle.
These were the leaders of David's warriors who helped establish and stabilize his rule over all Israel, in accordance with the Lord's word.
When all the leaders of Israel came to the king at Hebron, King David made an agreement with them in Hebron before the Lord. They designated David as king over Israel.

Night and day may you watch over this temple, the place where you promised you would live. May you answer your servant's prayer for this place.
