But I will send a fire into the house of Hazael, which shall devour the palaces of Benhadad.


Thus says the Lord,
“For three transgressions of Gaza [in Philistia] and for four (multiplied delinquencies)
I will not reverse its punishment or revoke My word concerning it,
Because [as slave traders] they took captive the entire [Jewish] population [of defenseless Judean border villages, of which none was spared]
And deported them to Edom [for the slave trade].

But I will send a fire on the wall of Gaza, which shall devour the palaces thereof:

But I will send a fire on the wall of Tyrus, which shall devour the palaces thereof.

But I will send a fire upon Teman, which shall devour the palaces of Bozrah.

Therefore will I kindle a fire upon the wall of Rabbah, which shall devour the palaces thereof, - with a war-cry in the day of battle, with tempest in the day of storm-wind;

Therefore will I send a fire into Moab, which shall devour the palaces of Kerioth - and Moab, shall die with tumult, with war- cry, with the sound of a horn;

Thus saith the LORD; For three transgressions of Judah, and for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because they have despised the law of the LORD, and have not kept his commandments, and their lies caused them to err, after the which their fathers have walked:

Therefore will I send a fire upon Judah, - which shall devour the palaces of Jerusalem.

That trample on the dust of the earth which is on the head of the poor, and turn aside the way of the meek: and a man and his father will go in unto the same maiden, to defile my holy name:

Here, My Lord, Yahweh gave me to see, and lo! My Lord Yahweh proclaiming that, the controversy should be settled by fire, - which, having devoured the mighty roaring deep, should devour the inheritance.
