For Christ sent me not to immerse, but to proclaim the Gospel; not in wisdom of speech, lest the cross of Christ should be made void.

Where is the wise? Where is the scribe? Where is the disputer of this age? Hath not God made foolish the wisdom of the world?

but God chose the foolish things of the world, that He might put to shame the wise; and God chose the weak things of the world, that He might put to shame the things that are strong;

and the base things of the world, and things despised, did God choose, and the things that are not, that He might bring to nought the things that are;

But of Him are ye in Christ Jesus, Who was made to us wisdom from God, also righteousness, and holiness, and redemption;

the work of each one shall be made manifest; for the day shall declare it, because it is revealed in fire; and the fire itself will prove each one's work, of what sort it is.

Have ye already become satisfied? Did ye already become rich? Did ye reign without us? I wish, at least, that ye did reign, that we also might reign with you.

being defamed, we entreat; we were made as the filth of the world, the offscouring of all things, until now.

And ye have become puffed up, and did not rather mourn, that he who did this deed might be taken away from you.

For, being free from all men, I made myself servant to all, that I might gain the more.

And, to the Jews, I became as a Jew, that I might gain Jews; to those under law, as under law (not being myself under law), that I might gain those under law;

to those without law, as without law (not being without law to God, but under law to Christ), that I might gain those without law.

To the weak I became weak, that I might gain the weak. I have become all things to all men, that I may, by all means, save some.

Now these things became types for us, that we might not covet evil things, as they also coveted.

for there must also be factions among you, that the approved may be made manifest among you.

for, indeed, in one Spirit were we all immersed into one body, whether Jews or Greeks, whether bond or free; and were all made to drink of one Spirit.

that there might be no schism in the body, but that the members might have the same care, one for another.

If, therefore, the whole assembly comes together, and all are speaking with tongues, and there come in those who are unlearned or unbelieving, will they not say that ye are mad?

the secrets of his heart are made manifest; and so, falling on his face, he will worship God, reporting that, in reality, God is among you.

But, if a revelation be made to another sitting by, let the first keep silence;

For as in Adam all die, so also in Christ shall all be made alive;

Foolish one! that which you sow is not made alive, except it die;

On the first day of the sabbaths, let each one of you lay by him, treasuring it up, as he may prosper, that no collections be made, when I come.

and, if it be meet for me also to go, they shall go with me.
