and Pathrusim, and Casluhim (from whom came the Philistines), and Caphthorim.

The sons of Judah: Er and Onan, and Shelah, three born to him from the daughter of Shua the Canaanitess. And Er, the first-born of Judah, was evil in the sight of Jehovah, and He killed him.

And he took Geshur, and Aram, with the towns of Jair, from them, with Kenath, and its towns, sixty cities. All these belonged to the sons of Machir the father of Gilead.

And the families of Kirjath-jearim were the Ithrites, and the Puhites, and the Shumathites, and the Mishraites. From them came the Zareathites, and the Eshtaulites.

And the families of the scribes who lived at Jabez were the Tirathites, the Shimeathites, and Suchathites. These are the Kenites who came from Hemath, the father of the house of Rechab.

And Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying, Oh that You would bless me indeed, and make my border larger, and that Your hand might be with me, and that You would keep me from evil, so that it may not grieve me! And God granted him that which he asked.

The sons of Shelah the son of Judah: Er the father of Lecah, and Laadah the father of Mareshah, and the families of the house of those who worked fine linen, from the house of Ashbea,

For Judah prevailed among his brothers, and from him came the chief ruler, but the birthright was Joseph's);

And he lived as far to the east as the entrance of the wilderness from the river Euphrates, because their cattle were multiplied in the land of Gilead.

And their brothers from the house of their fathers: Michael, and Meshullam, and Sheba, and Jorai, and Jachan, and Zia, and Heber, seven.

And the sons of the half tribe of Manasseh lived in the land. They increased from Bashan to Baal-hermon and Senir, and to Mount Hermon.

And Mikloth fathered Shimeah. And these also lived with their brothers in Jerusalem, across from them.

And their brothers in their villages, were to come in for seven days from time to time with them.

And others of the sons of the Kohathites, from among their brothers, were over The Bread of Arrangement, to prepare sabbath by sabbath.

And Mikloth fathered Shimeam. And they also dwelt with their brothers at Jerusalem, across from their brothers.

And the Philistines fought with Israel. And the men of Israel fled from the face of the Philistines, and fell down dead in Mount Gilboa.

And he built the city all around, even from Millo all around. And Joab repaired the rest of the city.

He was with David at Pas-dammim. And there the Philistines were gathered together to battle and a portion of the field was full of barley. And the people fled from before the Philistines.

And David longed and said, Oh that someone would give me drink from the water of the well of Bethlehem, which was by the gate!

And these were the ones who came to David to Ziklag, while banned from the face of Saul the son of Kish. And they were among the mighty men, helpers of the war,

right and left-handed, armed with bows, with stones, and with arrows, with the bow from the brothers of Saul, of Benjamin.

And some from Manasseh fell to David when he came with the Philistines to battle against Saul. (But they did not help them. For the lords of the Philistines sent him away on advice, saying, He will fall to his master Saul with our heads.)

As he went to Ziklag, there fell to him these from Manasseh, Adnah, and Jozabad, and Jediael, and Michael, and Jozabad, and Elihu, and Zillethai, captains of the thousands who were from Manasseh.

From the sons of Simeon the mighty men of power for the war, seven thousand and one hundred.

From the sons of Levi were four thousand and six hundred.

And from the half tribe of Manasseh were eighteen thousand, who were chosen by name to come and make David king.

And from the sons of Issachar, men who had understanding of the times, to know what Israel ought to do, the heads of them were two hundred. And all their brothers were at their command.

From Zebulun, such as went forth to battle, expert in war, with all the weapons of war, fifty thousand who could keep rank. They were not of a double heart.

And from Naphtali, a thousand captains; and with them with shield and spear were thirty-seven thousand.

And on the other side of Jordan, from the Reubenites, and of the Gadites, and from the half tribe of Manasseh, with all of the weapons of war for battle were a hundred and twenty thousand.

And David said to all the congregation of Israel, If it is good to you, and if it has broken forth from Jehovah our God, let us send to our brothers, those remaining in all the lands of Israel, and with them to the priests and Levites in their cities that they be gathered to us.

And David gathered all Israel together, from Shihor of Egypt even to the entering of Hamath, to bring the ark of God from Kirjath-jearim.

And David and all Israel went up to Baalah, to Kirjath-jearim of Judah, to bring up from there the ark of Jehovah God, He who dwells between the cherubs, whose name is called on it.

And David asked again of God. And God said to him, Do not go up after them. Turn away from them, and come on them over against the weeping trees.

And David did as God commanded him. And they struck the army of the Philistines from Gibeon to Gezer.

From the sons of Kohath: Uriel the chief, and a hundred and twenty of his brothers.

From the sons of Merari: Asaiah the chief, and two hundred and twenty of his brothers.

From the sons of Gershom: Joel the chief, and a hundred and thirty of his brothers.

From the sons of Elizaphan: Shemaiah the chief and two hundred of his brothers.

From the sons of Hebron: Eliel the chief and eighty of his brothers.

From the sons of Uzziel: Amminadab the chief and a hundred and twelve of his brothers.

And the Levites chose Heman the son of Joel, and of his brothers, Asaph the son of Berechiah. And from the sons of Merari their brothers, was Ethan the son of Kushaiah.

and they went from nation to nation, and from one kingdom to another people,

Sing to Jehovah, all the earth. Show forth from day to day His salvation.

And say, Save us, O God of our salvation, and gather us, and deliver us from the nations, so that we may give thanks to Your holy name, and glory in Your praise.

For I have not dwelt in a house since the day that I brought up Israel until today, but have gone from tent to tent, and from one tabernacle to another.

And now you shall say this to My servant David, So says Jehovah of Hosts, I took you from the pasture, from following the sheep, so that you should be ruler over My people Israel.

And I have been with you wherever you have walked, and have cut off all your enemies from before you, and have made you a name like the name of the great men in the earth.

And it will be, when your days have ended so that you must go to be with your fathers, I will raise up your seed after you, who shall be from your sons. And I will make his kingdom sure.

I will be his Father, and he shall be My son. And I will not take My mercy away from him as I took it from him who was before you.

And what one nation in the earth is like Your people Israel, whom God went to redeem to be His own people, to make You a name of greatness and terribleness, by driving out nations from before Your people whom You have redeemed out of Egypt?

And David took from him a thousand chariots and seven thousand horsemen, and twenty thousand footmen. David also hamstrung all the chariot horses, but kept from them a hundred chariots.

And David brought very much bronze from Tibhath, and from Chun, cities of Hadarezer, with which Solomon made the bronze sea, and the pillars, and the vessels of bronze.

And King David dedicated them to Jehovah, with the silver and the gold which he brought from all the nations, from Edom, and from Moab, and from the sons of Ammon, and from the Philistines, and from Amalek.

And they hired thirty-two thousand chariots, and the king of Maachah and his people, who came and pitched before Medeba. And the Ammonites gathered themselves from their cities and came to battle.

And David took the crown of their king from off his head and found its weight a talent of gold. And precious stones were in it. And it was set on David's head, and he also brought exceeding much spoil out of the city.

And David said to Joab and to the rulers of the people, Go number Israel from Beer-sheba to Dan. And bring the number of them to me so that I may know.

Then David said to Ornan, Give me the place of this threshing-floor, so that I may build an altar in it to Jehovah. You shall give it to me for the full price, so that the plague may be stayed from the people.

And David built an altar there to Jehovah, and offered burnt offerings and peace offerings, and called on Jehovah. And He answered him from Heaven by fire on the altar of burnt offering.

Behold, a son shall be born to you who shall be a man of rest. And I will give him rest from all his enemies all around. For his name shall be Solomon, and I will give peace and quietness to Israel in his days.

And the Levites were numbered from the age of thirty years and upward. And their number by their heads, man by man, was thirty-eight thousand.

These were the sons of Levi after the house of their fathers, the chief of the fathers, as they were counted by number of names by their heads, the ones who did the work for the service of the house of Jehovah, from the age of twenty years and upward.

For by the last words of David the Levites were numbered from twenty years old and above,

But David did not take the number of those from twenty years old and under, because Jehovah had said He would increase Israel like the stars of the heavens.

All was in writing from the hand of Jehovah. He made me understand all the work of this pattern.

And the riches and the honor are from You, and You reign over all. And in Your hand is power and might. And it is in Your hand to make great and to give strength to all.

But who am I, and who my people, that we should be able to offer so willingly after this sort? For all things are from You, and we have given to You that which is Yours.

O Jehovah our God, all this store that we have prepared to build You a house for Your holy name comes from Your hand, and is all Your own.
