Therefore if a woman is not covered, let her also be shaved: but if it be shameful, for a woman to have her hair shaved off, or cut short, let her be covered.

Doth not nature itself teach you, that for a man to have long hair, is a disgrace to him?

But if any one be contentious, we have no such custom, neither the churches of God.

And those which we think to be the less honourable parts of the body, these we surround with more abundant honour, and our uncomely parts have more abundant comeliness.

For our comely parts have no need; but God hath tempered the body together, giving more abundant honour to that which lacked:

Are all apostles? are all prophets? are all teachers? have all miraculous powers?

Have all the gifts of healing? do all speak with tongues? do all interpret? But covet earnestly the best gifts.

Why are we also in danger every hour? I protest by your rejoicing, which I have in Christ Jesus our Lord, I die daily.

So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.

Concerning the collection for the saints, as I have ordered the churches of Galatia, so also do ye.

And I beseech you, brethren, as ye know the houshold of Stephanas, that it is the first-fruits of Achaia, and that they have devoted themselves to serve the saints,

I rejoice at the coming of Stephanas, and Fortunatus, and Achaicus: for they have supplied what was wanting on your part.
