If we suffer Him to go on thus, all the people will believe on Him, and the Romans will come and destroy both our place and nation.

So they sought for Jesus, and said to one another in the temple, What think ye? that He will not come to the feast?

and Simon Peter saith unto them, I will go a fishing, and they say to him, We will also go with thee. So they went out, and forthwith entered into a ship: and that night they caught nothing.

And Peter turning about seeth the disciple whom Jesus loved, (and who leaned on his breast at supper, and said, Lord, who is he that will betray Thee?) following them;

This rumor therefore was spread among the brethren, that that disciple should not die: though Jesus did not say that he should not die, but--- if I will that he stay till I come, what is that to thee?
