This man came as a witness, to testify of the Light, that all through him might believe.

And it was necessary that he should go through Samaria.

And upon this his disciples came, and were astonished that he was talking with the woman. Yet no one said: What seekest thou? or, why talkest thou with her?

And he that reaps receives wages, and gathers fruit for life eternal; that he that sows, and he that reaps, may rejoice together.

I have sent you to reap that on which you bestowed no labor. Others have labored, and you have entered into their labors.

And many of the Samaritans of that city believed on him, because of the word of the woman who testified, He told me all things that I ever did.

for Jesus himself testified that a prophet has no honor in his own country.

Therefore, when he came into Galilee, the Galileans received him, because they had seen all things that he had done in Jerusalem during the feast; for they them selves had gone to the feast.

When he heard that Jesus had come from Judea into Galilee, he went to him, and besought him that he would come down, and restore his son to health, for he was about to die.

Jesus said to him: Go, your child lives. And the man believed the word that Jesus spoke, and departed.

Then his father knew that it was in the same hour in which Jesus said to him, Your son lives. And he himself, and all his house, believed.

When Jesus saw him lying, and knew that he had been already a long time in that condition, he said to him: Do you wish to be restored to health?

And the man was immediately restored to health; and he took up his bed and walked. And that day was the sabbath.

The Jews, therefore, said to him that was cured: It is the sabbath; it is not lawful for you to carry your bed.

He answered them: He that restored me to health said to me, Take up your bed and walk.

Then they asked him: Who is he that said to you, Take up your bed and walk?

But he that had been restored to health knew not who he was; for Jesus had withdrawn himself, because a multitude was in the place.

The man departed, and told the Jews that it was Jesus that had restored him to health.

For this reason, therefore, the Jews sought the more to kill him, because he had not only broken the sabbath, but also said that God was his own father, making himself equal with God.

that all may honor the Son, as they honor the Father. He that honors not the Son, honors not the Father who sent him.

Be not astonished at this; for the hour is coming in which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice,

There is another that testifies concerning me, and I know that the testimony which he testifies concerning me is worthy of credit.

But I receive not testimony from man; yet I say these things that you may be saved.

And when they were satisfied, he said to his disciples: Gather up the broken pieces which remain, that nothing be lost.

Then the men, after having seen the sign which Jesus did, said: This is, in truth, the prophet that was to come into the world.

Therefore, Jesus perceiving that they were about to come and take him by force, to make him king, withdrew into the mountain himself alone.

And the sea arose by reason of a great wind that was blowing.

The next day, the multitude that stood on the other side of the sea, seeing that no other boat had been there but the one which his disciples had entered, and that Jesus had not entered the boat with his disciples, but that his disciples had gone away alone;

when, therefore, the multitude saw that neither Jesus nor his disciples were there, they also entered the ships, and came to Capernaum, seeking Jesus.

Therefore, they said to him: "What sign do you show, then, that we may see, and believe you? What work do you perform?

But I said to you, that you have seen me, and yet you do not believe.

Then the Jews murmured at him, because he said, I am like bread that came down from heaven.
